I would like to make this Aldo!

Using the collar piece from the Hasbro Ursus and putting it on the Sideshow gorilla body would help to accomplish that "Aldo look". In fact, I wonder if that would even look good on a chimp. Do you remember the cartoon chimp Ironman posted a few days back?

After that, what's left for Aldo, a sword? :angelsmil

Yea, pretty much! As a matter of fact, one of the Gorilla sculpts that you made could pass for Aldo. I have one!

Hope to see you on tomorrow morning. I will talk atcha then! I have some certain paints and sculpting tools to show you pictures of. Later Brother Ape!

Do you think that bondo would be cheaper than apoxie for such a big project?

It would be much cheaper to get Bondo than all that apoxie. Wal-Mart sells iBondo for around $15 per gallon. I'd probably need 2 gallons for her robe, the stone rubble at her base and the book alone. However, the details of her face, her crown and hair would have to be apoxie. Other areas such as Lady Liberty's torch, and portions of the book, would have to be apoxie as well.

The apoxie allows you to sculpt. Bondo will be a great cost saver to me! I used a quart of Bondo on the Doomsday Bomb while fashioning the cone portion of the missile. That was before I ever heard of apoxie.

That's a very clever idea. To me, I never liked the oversized zippers, but I guess that could easily be rectified by just cutting it off. I need to get a few of the Red jumpsuits. Conquest was a great one. I've watched the DVD PZ gave out four times already. :D
Conquest always bothered me because they forgot the apes had simian feet.
like to thank Angel, Ironman, and Stickman for their responses. I would have to say that the dml Dragon bodies would be my preference because of the thinner bodies. The only thing is adapting a neck plug to the original dml neck.
So another question for you all! Do they have a BBI type neck that adapts/mounts onto a dml neck?
No, they won't fit DML right off. I have used the cover tube from old CrazyGlue containers, cut down and glued into the top offthe neck hole in the ape head, then the opening of the tube gets glued down onto the figure's neck stud.
Hi IM! Is Yamato the same as In the Past Toys?
No they are different entities. ITPT bodies are not much good, IMHO, for much other than fodder.
The Fat Man

I know. I know. He's weak... perhaps in time, I can do something better with him.

I so need one of those to complete my Mutant ensemble. Sideshow would have rocked had they made the main mutants instead of 9 Taylors. :monkey3

In case any one needs them, here is a set of some loose Sideshow Ape figures. FZ Zaius and Caesar are in the batch. Not my auction by the way. Just happened to find them and thought I would pass them on in case anyone here needs them

Yea, I was going to bid on them at the last second. Is anyone here involved with the bidding wars of this auction? I have been watching it for a week!:monkey1

Yeah KFog- I was bidding on those also! Good luck to you. I really want another Caesar. That's my motivation. The two gorillas are always “keepable”. If I win, I was planning on selling both orangutans... or something. I don't need them.

Are we bidding against each other? :lol

I have always liked your camera! I would love on of those

Thanks Dr. Zaius - Perhaps, if enough people wanted that camera, I could make a mold of it and sell them. It's so small; it would certainly be one of my simpler projects. Making the camera stand(s) and getting them "just right" is the only real challenge.

I would imagine that that would be rough to duplicate.
