There's been news floating around that Lion's Gate may be rebooting the series. Not a huge surprise they had plans to make another :/

here is the thing about SAW, I know a lot of people hate saw and call it "torture porn" but
the way I See it SAW is this decade's "Jason" or "Myers"
I mean, 7 movies, back to back, it is just another Horror Icon, and,
I have to say, his track is a lot better than Leatherface or Scream, Even better than Michael Myers or Freddy kruger,
for all the hate SAW gets, SAW never went to space, or Worked for the Illuminati, or went to the getto, or became a reality tv show,
I mean, the big 3 icons, (jason Michael and Freddy) have some pretty awful movies, cheesy ones,
SAW might be torture porn, but, I think it might be the first horror franchise that follows one story,
I am not even a huge SAW fan either, I like it, yeah,
but the fact that they could keep the same story for 7 movies, keep the same actors, the same look, that gritty dirty green look, that alone counts for a lot.
SAW might not be great movies, they might be waste of time,
but Honestly I ask you, for real, have you seen all the Halloween or Friday the 13th movies?
Friday the 13th 8 and 9 are beyond awful, they are horrible,
Halloween 5 and 6, same thing, then you have Halloween resurrection, which is the biggest insult to the franchise, I mean they had Busta Rhymes beat up Myers LOL! and then you have Jason X in Space,
so really at the end of the day, SAW is probably the most successful horror slasher franchise, they follow a close plot and never did any of that cheesy stuff lol
well, that's the way I See it.

Whatever you have to tell yourself to ignore this long, drab, fail of a post.
Where Saw loses the audience is people actually went to see those nostalgic slashers rack up the kills personally. For Saw, it's not about watching Jigsaw or whoever's playing Pighead, it's about watching the gore. There's no horror "icon" doing the actual killings. So putting it bluntly, it's the difference between having sex with an actual woman (Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees) or whacking off to internet close-ups of a vajayjay (Saw).
I see what you are saying, you are part right, I get that Saw is only gore and torture porn,
but, really, aren't the Friday 13 movies the same? they don't have a great plot, They don't HAVE a plot, like, at all, some kids smoke and have sex and a guy in a mask kills them one by one slowly throughout the movie
there are no interesting characters, there is not good story, the only interesting thing is the killer itself,
I mean, I Don't know, for all the crap and mockery SAW gets from other horror fans, You Would think the movies They love were amazing,
which is not the case, some of them are awful, Friday 13th part 9 is possibly one of the worst movies I ever watched,
I mean, sure, the SAW movies are stupid, but at least they could manage to keep one same story throughout which is the first franchise to do that,
at least they deserve credit for that though, the fact that after 7 movies they have the same actors, the same style, the same story,
fBut they don't. Look at Saw a bit more closely. I hiiiiiiiiiiiighly doubt they had a clear vision through to the end. It was more like, "____, how do we write ourselves out of this ____?" "Yo, just pretend this happened in the last film, too." Many of the entries blatantly retconned the hell out of the original as well as other sequels that came before said entry so that they could fit everything nicely. One of the things that the other franchises didn't feel necessary was the fact to go back and change everything that came before the latest entry.
But I digress, trying to compare Saw to the slasher franchises of old is a huge fail as they're apples and oranges. You'd have a better argument comparing Saw to the freebie grinders you get when ordering porn. Best modern horror franchise, yes. Best selling horror franchise of all time, debunked years ago.
I hated Saw 2, I thought it was the weakest honestly,
hated everyone in it and hated how there were not true traps, I mean, there were traps all over the place but, I just hated that one,
Honestly, that's everything after 1 though.
NAM You Didnt answer me, what do you think is the best horror franchise of all time?
Saw sucks because watching people get tortured is rarely ever fun.
When Jason kills someone, it's fun because it's the effects you're looking forward too. All these unique ways to murder, and not to mention Jason is visually striking.
If someone said "Yeah, I love when that one guy's neck was broken all slowly because he accidently ran over some kid, because the dad doesn't know how to watch his own children" I would want them to take some meds...or something.
Saw 3 is one of the worst films ever made. Ever. ____ that movie. And everything after that.
