I agree that sculpt does matter but, come on, one IS more popular. Poison Ivy has sexy written all over. She's also been in movies and video games thanks to batman. What has scarlet witch been in other than comics? The descrepency in the ES has more to do with popularity and sex appeal than sculpt IMO.

And you can't seem to understand that Sideshow sets ES based on demand during initial preorders. Preorders through the roof = Poison Ivy. Very poor preorder numers = Scarlet Witch, Venomsaurus, and Big Foot

Better hunt one down before his value goes through the roof all you low ES fanatics.

Oh I know the ES is set based on preorder numbers. I never said this would be more valuable due to lower ES. Poison ivy EX will be far more valuable down the line. I also think that poison ivy is that much more popular. Maybe not to die hard comic fans but to casual collectors, scarlet witch has little to zero exposure.

Poison ivy is just one of the villains in batman, even though she appeared in one of the movies, i think both of them are the same b level characters.

My point was 2 things. I've already conceded that sculpt is part of a statue selling well, just not the main reason. Sex appeal is a major factor but so is exposure. For example, to a casual collector I believe poison ivy is much more well known than scarlet witch. I'm not talking about comic book fanatics. I'm sure a lot of gamers know her from arkham asylum or other previous batman games along with the movies. Also, I stand by the idea that ivy is sexier than scarlet witch, as is lady death, in concept.

That is not what we are arguing about. His argument is that Poison Ivy has a high ES simply because she is popular amongst casual collectors. Our argument is that it has more to do with the fantastic sculpt. How else would you explain Lady Death (fantastic sculpt) having a higher ES despite having practically zero exposure.

Sure Poison Ivy may be more popular but not by that much. Scarlet Witch would sell much better (leading to a much higher ES) if Sideshow had put more effort into the statue. If you agree with him you are saying that people buy high end statues mainly because a character is popular and don't really care about the sculpt.
