That is not what we are arguing about. His argument is that Poison Ivy has a high ES simply because she is popular amongst casual collectors. Our argument is that it has more to do with the fantastic sculpt.

Sure Poison Ivy may be more popular but not by that much. Scarlet Witch would sell much better (leading to a much higher ES) if Sideshow had put more effort into the statue. If you agree with him you are saying that people buy high end statues mainly because a character is popular and don't really care about the sculpt.

Ah I see, well I think Ivy had a higher ES for Multiple Reasons.
1. Yes because of her popularity among all fans and she's been a bit more publicized than Scarlett Witch
2. Yes the sculpt was Fantastic. and
3. Because the DC license is going to have Higher ES's Especially with Batman Characters because he and His rogues are well known and you know collectors...you buy one...you might buy them all.

Scarlett Witch Suffers from what I think is a poor Head sculpt(I think the body is fine though) , under exposure as a character and let's face it Unless you're an Avengers nut do you really want to spend $350 on her?

Wow no one said it was just popularity. I have stated a couple times that sculpt DOES play a role, just not the main one IMO. Anyways this argument is going no where so we can just agree to disagree and move on.

My point was 2 things. I've already conceded that sculpt is part of a statue selling well, just not the main reason. Sex appeal is a major factor but so is exposure. For example, to a casual collector I believe poison ivy is much more well known than scarlet witch. I'm not talking about comic book fanatics. I'm sure a lot of gamers know her from arkham asylum or other previous batman games along with the movies. Also, I stand by the idea that ivy is sexier than scarlet witch, as is lady death, in concept.

Which is more popular is debatable so I wont argue with that as none of us can tell for certainty.

But my other point is sex appeal = sculpt, sculpt = sex appeal. So by saying sex appeal is a major factor you are really saying sculpt is a major factor.

What is sex appeal exactly? it's how sexy the statue -> sculpt looks. They could made scarlet witch just as hot as poison ivy and I have no doubt the edition size will be 1000+ then.

I have to agree that someone said earlier it feels like scarlet witch is just a check box to get it over with, while poison ivy has a lot of effort/thought that went into the sculpt. It's not a big deal to me because the comiquette is still one of my favorite statues, it's so wacky & well done.

I ordered both. I'm a big fan of Wanda. Not only is she magnetos daughter but she caused the entire house of m storyline which triggered so many great stories and right now she is the only thing holding back the phoenix force. She is an incredible character they did not do justice too.

I agree. Her face just doesn't look good to me. It is too wide and the eyes make her look old and mean. Poison Ivy just oozes sexiness and is the much better sculpt IMO. What is funny is that they are both Mark Newman sculpts. Poison Ivy is a hit, but Scarlet Witch is a miss.

My guess is that the art direction might have not been so good. They may have just guided mark to sculpt her a certain way. Course I have no idea what they asked for but I still think it looks solid. I just have no interest in the character.
