The latest MR Blog mentioned that the same publisher who released Dressing a Galaxy is releasing Sculpting a Galaxy: Inside the Star Wars Model Shop authored by ILM model maker Lorne Peterson.

I wonder if Sideshow will be offering some type of limited edition version.

EDIT: I just checked Amazon, and it looks like there's a limited edition coming.

Holy CRAP!!! Now THAT is a must buy for me!!! I love the MR Studio Scale vehicles, and this will be right up my alley. I still need to get Dressing a Galaxy and the 2 SW Chronicles books.

Best part about this is Lorne Peterson worked on EVERY Star Wars film, not just the PT, like Trisha Biggar. I expect this to be even better than Dressing a Galaxy.

Yeah, I expect this to be OT oriented. It will probably have some really cool extras also. A piece of the original Death Star tiles perhaps? There are many nice options out there.

I hope Sideshow carries this, but I have a strange feeling they won't! I hope they prove me wrong...

Just order it from Overstock.com or somewhere similar for around $175 or so whenever they put it up. I would never pay full retail direct when I can get it for almost half price.

I'm still kicking myself for not ordering Dressing a Galaxy deluxe when Overstock had it for $160 shipped. :banghead I even PM'd some people about it.

Oh wow, here is some new information on the book.

"Make your own Millinium Falcon" is pretty disappointing considering that I want to get the MR version. Hopefully there will be some better additions than that. I'll still get the deluxe version, mainly for the clamshell box and model shop DVD. The extra booklets and blueprints will be nice as well.

I wonder if the "models and sculptures from all 6 films" means the book itself, or that actual model pieces will be in the box?

I recently got the deluxe Dressing a Galaxy for $175, so I'll pick this up around that same price.

Look to the Sideshow site for an update, with images of the final piece. We got our hands on a finished sample this week, and it is beyond beautiful. Amazing work.

I was fortunate enough to attend the panel at SDCC, this IS an amazing piece of work. It was a kick hearing just how the Landspeeder was created --- Sharpie caps for engines. :lol Supposedly that has been fairly accurately recreated for the set.

Well, the order I placed with Amazon still shows it for $231. I hope it doesn't change when it comes time to ship.

I just ordered the regular - thank you Antie's Christmas Gift Card. :chew
