more like if you dont get your 1st pick, and you wont if you picked the 1 blockers theyll offer you one 7 miles away not even on your list... NOOBS!!!!

Takes one to know one!! OOOhhh!!!

You pick your hotels and they go down your list and the first one that has an availability you will get a room. It all depends on how many people put in ahead of you.

So, do u add ur CC info...so they just book it....even if it not ur first choise?

Yeah...but ____ that noise! We're lucky we got our group! :lol

Your right, its going to be a blast. I was just curious because if there was no discount, or at least not a significant one then wouldn't it be worth it to pay the extra money and book the room you really wanted 4 months ago?

So is it like 25-40% off then?

that process was relatively painless. NOTHING like the actual SDCC event ticketing. Was it always this straight forward? I dont feel like I wont get a room... 20 hotels * 500 rooms (give or take) = 10 000.

I like my odds.

There were "premium services" that required a non-refundable full deposit for instance at the Marriott for $499.99 a night. Basically $2K for the 4 day duration. This would've been charged in full today. Thru the con hotel reservation its 1 night deposit.. refundable (mostly), and its roughly $269 a night. Most hotels in that vicinity are typically fully reserved for con anyways... unless im mistaken?

Okay, Nice. That is a good deal then. glad its working out for everyone.

Man, they totally changed how they've done this. You just submit your info and they pick for you. Interesting change.

It was like that last year, too.

Before anyone gets excited, I submitted my Top 20 hotel choices last year within the first 2 minutes... and didn't get a single one. They booked me like 8 miles away. It's a total crapshoot.

And most of us will have to wait another week or so to even find out what we got.

There is a pretty significant discount.

Yea such is life. I guess it doesn't really matter to me in the end, as long as it is connected to transportation, or it is near by.

So grateful to have friends that live in San Diego, or SDCC would be completely out of the picture for me at this point. The things we all have to go through are ridiculous. This will likely be my last, unless and until things cool off down there and the crowds subside. I'll just go to Wondercon and Phoenix, and others when the urge strikes. Then during SDCC, I will be watching you all on the SS cameras, and picking you to win stuff!

:lol

Hey Fury, how is wondercon...I always thought Wondercon was more anime related than anything.

Oh no, Wondercon is a great mix of almost exactly what you see at SDCC, only scaled down considerably with a nice quiet floor. No humming din of 130,000 people. Maybe like 30,000, if that. Not sure. But more comics, some of the same dealers, smaller panels, etc. Lots of fun, and so little hassle. You can walk right up to artists or writers you want to meet. Very laid back.

I've been three times, and while I can't seem to get into the Masquerade at SDCC, it was never a problem in SF, and I like the surroundings too. Cheaper hotels, the con is like what, $30? Such a great value. Also, I can be in downtown SF in about an hour and a half from here in Vegas. Same as SD, but still. Try driving from here to SF...

Wonder-con sounds like a nice change of pace. What happens in Phoenix?

The Phoenix comic-con in May. https:://www.phoenixcomicon.com[\ur...mall enough to meet artists and talk to them.

Anyone else notice something funky about the confirmation email? I got it about 3 hours after registering (at 9 AM exactly), but it's dated for 9 PM tonight. Like if I complain about not getting my choices they can say "well, you didn't submit until 12 hours later - what were you thinking?".
