I am a little worried now about getting a hotel next year. As some of you have said, if you try and book now it says sorry all rooms booked next year.
If I have to wait for them to become available through the Comic-con website then I may miss out because if they start selling at say 9am US time that's 2am in the morning here in Australia and from what I read the hotels for this years sold out in a few hours.

Don't worry about that. That's because most hotels won't book that far in advance. Plus, the site is still set up for this year.

This is true, they tend to start booking when the SDCC website is ready for it. This year I think it was March 18th.
I was lucky and got a hotel 8 blocks away for around $240 a night but I forgot to add Saturday night so I ended up booking the Hilton which was about $550 a night. Its right next door but dropping that money hurt a bit. I guess the point is that if you want to stay really close you have to pay a ridiculous amount. They even charged me for self parking that's crazy
Although if I would have been able to get it through SDCC website I'm sure it would have been cheaper.

Yeah mate I was planning on going from Australia to US by myself, thou my sister wants to go to the US so I think she's coming now. Thank god I was worried about lining up for Avengers panel for god knows how long by myself. No toilet breaks


EDIT: Just read at this link https://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=215397 that preview night tickets for 2011 are sold out already! Would this just be a certain amount of tickets put aside for sale at 2010 comic con with more to come online later or is that it?

Thats ghey....but I think they'll most likely put it up an online version of teh preview night. But don't worry...preview night isn't that big of a deal...u just go in earlier with less people. Thats all...the best day is Saturday!!!! With the big panels...

Can't stay up late that night I work early in the morning. Wake up early maybe but who wants to do that on a work day. I want to get in when it's less people so I can pick up stuff I want then and take it a bit easier the rest of the time.

It looks like I'm finally heading down next year. What is the closest hotel to the convention center? I'm bringing along the wife and kid so I'll need somewhere close when he has to go down for naps....or when I wonder back drunk after the Freaks party .

What are the dates for SDCC 2011?

I am planning on going. I am going to save up in August since I remember tickets going on sale in September put I could be wrong.

My problem is the price its going to cost me to go. Its pricey.

And hotels are already getting sold out? Damn.
