Damn, all the rooms even close to the convention center are gone. And alomst none of them have rooms for all four days!! This sucks. This is gonna be my first time to be able to go and I might not be able to get a room. :monkey2

Keep trying and call the hotels directly too - it's much more expensive, but can be the only way. Many people book more rooms than they need, so things will be opening up constantly.

Wish I could go, not enough money this year.
I guess I will have to do some saving.

On another note, I reserved my room for Dragon*Con this year. Wow! Both the Hyatt and Marriott are sold out which leaves only the Hilton nearby. Luckily, I got a room there.

Labor Day weekend here I come! :rock

Thankfully I only live about 35 minutes away from San Diego, so that won't even be an issue. My issue is getting a ride down. Anybody passing through Mission Viejo on the ride down the 5? :D

Looks like I'm cabbing it every day. I got a place like 2.5 miles from the Center. Not to bad in the end and I got on a bunch of waiting lists for other hotels from the booking website, so maybe someone will not be able to make it! Well, I hope everyone can make, but damn, I want a closer room.

That's not too bad really. Even walkable. We had to do the same thing from Base to the train station in Japan. :D

If you and I can get a few people interested in staying with us, we can make that room Hella cheap for us all in the end too.

Definitely man. I was hoping for something like that. I mean, it's only for a place to crash and get showered. But if you can get some people together, that would be cool. I already told my boss, and they're cool, so know it's just the wait. :chew

Sweet! I'm just pumped that I can actually go this year! My financial Aid and GI Bill money should be in full swing around that time, so I should have cash to spend. :lol

ROTFLMFAO!! Dude, that's exactly how I'm gonna be paying for mine. My work gives full reimbursment for school and books, even with the few classes I'm taking right now, so I'm just gonna bank that $600 or so a month unitl the end of May.!

Depending where you ended you might not want to cab it it will cost a fortune since traffic doesn't move very well. Look into if any of the trains stop near there it will cost you less that way. There may a bus for that area too some of hotels have buses running.

Yeah, that's true. But like DA81 said, it's really not that far to walk, and you're right too, I'm sure there will be a bus or maybe the shuttle will even be close by.

Boy am I glad I didn't wait on getting a room. I tell ya, for those that don't care about having a fancy hotel room...a hostel is a great way to go. Booked a 2 bed private room 2 months ago that will only cost me $42/night. Plus it's only 5 blocks from the convention center. Good luck to everyone else looking for rooms. Hope there's a lot of cancellations and all those on the waitlist from the board get hooked up. :)

Yea, the hotels are insane for taking the those kind of discounts through the con site. However that $1000 Rock Star suite at the Hard Rock does look mighty tempting.
