Anyone on the fence about this there is a good deal at BBTS today. I was able to pick it up for $230 including shipping.

I thought it'd been that way for ages. I was hoping to get it eventually, but now that they are advertising it as a sale...

For anyone who owns this, can you please help me answer this question?

Can the ship swivel to one side or the other on top of the base or does it have to be positioned length-wise over the base like I see in every picture of this replica (including the pictures in this thread)?

Thanks!

Sorry for dredging up an old thread, but I managed to snag one of these off sleazebay for a hefty price. It's pretty cool. For anyone who has this, do you know if there were supposed to be 4 landing gear legs or just 2 (because that's all I received); plus, where in the hell are you supposed to put these? I can't find anywhere that these are supposed to plug into. One of the small pegs that's supposed to hold the shuttle further inside the ship was broken off, and no amount of futzing with super glue has gotten that damn thing back on (so, based on the price point, I'm a bit disappointed it arrived broken... and unrepairable). Overall, it's a cool model and I'm glad I have it. It's probably my favorite of all the ships I've seen on film. I was always a fan (and still am) of the Millennium Falcon, but unlike the Serenity, you never really get to see much of the Falcon's interior, whereas the Serenity looks and feels like a ship people actually work and live in.

The cutaway model doesn't come with landing gear, it just fits in flight mode in on the stand. The QMx stuff overall is pretty fragile since they use polystone and plastic, I think one of the arms for the shuttles broke on mine too. Sometimes with super glue you just need to hold it in place for a bit for it to hold.

The one thing with the interior, as you see it on the show and movie it doesn't fit inside. The interior set was designed and built based on the first design of the ship and it went through some major design changes later. In general the interior set is too small for how big the exterior should be so things like windows wouldn't line up. There's also the issue that the cargo hold is positioned and sized in a way where the two levels would intersect. The placement of the shuttles also wouldn't work for the interior because their on the sides of the mess hall above the wings on the outside but the hatch that leads to them is in the cargo hold which is below that.
QMx made some blueprints that show everything fitting inside but some parts wouldn't actually work as they show it, and they had to make some pretty crazy changes like really steep stairs to make some parts work.

Thanks. I tried holding it for quite a long time, but it didn’t take. Oddly, I got these two tiny things that look like they could possibly be landing gear legs, but they don’t actually go anywhere that I can see, so I guess they aren’t useful.
