Seriousness about getting into debt with this stuff!

oy... I started so small. I got back into Collecting toys with Gi Joe 25th annaversery figures.
Thewn, I was bored at wrk, and was reading about the stargate season ending on sci-fi.com.. and saw a sugested article. a Review for the Luke Jedi figure from sideshow. I was instantly hooked. I'd loved the 12 inch figures as a kid. And this one was infinitely better. I looking into the line, and crapped my pants...
i dropped the g.I joe figures, and started crusing e-bay..

Since then ( last June, for the record) I've branched out from Star Wars into Some Medicom Marvel, Hot toys Aliens/Predator, and Some anime figures. Oh, and Other superheroes.
I'm guilty of the credit card problem, i know. On the up side? I'm a full time life at home college student, who works nights as a security guard just so that i can get the health insurance. Quite Literaly the ENTIRETY of my paychecks have been going to my sideshow/medi/hot toys bill ever since.

I SHOULD have my cards paid for by the begenning of q2, and i can switch to my Pre-paid mastercard i got. I've just got to clear out my existing debt first... UGH.
For the record? i currently owe about 500 on one visa( this was originaly my Gas and WoW card, hee), 500 on my Paypal buyer credit, and 700 on my other visa.
wow... when i look at it like that..... that's a considerable chunk of change.

On the up side, No intrest. just got to get them paid off before i start getting charged intrest ( got till october, should be taken are of LONG before that)

I think this whole board is a bunch of enablers. Had I not joined here I would not have anything more than the James Bond figures and some Star Wars figures. No Marvel, PF's, no Gentle Giant, no DC Direct. Golly my collection would be boring if I had never joined here...

this post could not be truer! i wouldn't have discovered Hot toys if it wasn't for this board. Now i have 12 Hot Toys figures.

I wouldn't have discovered the wonders of Life size if it wasn't for this board. Now I have 1 life size bust, and 2 on the way.

but i love every minute of it!!

Finally did it and it does feel good (with only slight pangs of regret).
I cancelled ALL of my 1/6 Exclusive pre-orders of STAR WARS (starting with the soon to arrive Exc. Palpatine two-pack all the way through to the Exc. ANH Luke), the two Exc. Hobbits from LOTR, and the Exc. Shaun of the Dead.

I now only have two items on pre-order in my account... the faux bronze Yoda vs. Dooku dio and the Exc. Anakin PF. Everything else is bye bye.

Time to get the money owed dealt with and then maybe down the road I'll snag a few or all of them again. I didn't think the completist in me would let go but all in all it doesn't feel too bad. I'll just live vicariously through some of the pics of collections of the things I missed here.
