I cant say that I like these. I was super excited to see that they got the SofD license, but I just dont like the way they look.
Not to mention I dont think these are $60 figures. VERY basic costume, few accessories and just not complex figure. They should be more like $50.

Yeah, the more I look at these the less impressed I get. Shaun's expression just nerves me--it might be better when released, but I really think the expression is too extreme. I don't need a stotic and blank face, but the open mouth-eye balls looking back thing is too much. Some shots it looks almost okay, but in other shots it looks way off. 
Then there's the shirt. The shirt is tragic. Where it meets the belt--all bunched up--looks like it's 2 sizes too big.
And the price tag. Like someone else said, "$60 for both? Not bad. Wait. A piece. Ewwww." I did the same thing. And when we are getting so much more with the SW and LOTR stuff at this scale and this price--I at least shouldn't be looking for a repaint and new shirt right out of the gate.

Yeah, I see your point, what gets me though is the people that think that what they see in the proto pic is what we are going to get in the end.

For some reason these figures remind of the Spinal Tap figures Sideshow made.
It's so much better. I have noticed that when people use that other smiley it sets off Forum Nerd Rage.

I F'N love Shaun of the dead. Do I think the figures are overpriced? Yes. But who gives a *****k. It's Shaun of the dead. Seriously though. These figures could use some more accesories and maybe interchangeable heads. Also where's the gun they use in pub. Or the darts they use.
Still, I'm very happy that sideshow is still picking up 1/6 licenses and heres hoping that they continue to do so. I picked these up and I will continue to support the 1/6 line.
P.S. Sideshow has a poll about whats your favorite horror/sci fi b movie. Evil dead is in the lead. You think theres hope for more ash figures. Here's hoping.

I just thought of something - you know that licensees have a lot of say in the product - perhaps the expressions are because Simon Pegg thought it would be funny like that?
And to compare these to Spinal Tap is actually pretty accurate - they were all sculpted as if singing and it looked great!

If so, he would be right. The expressions fit the tone of the film perfectly. Whatever the reason, I'm glad they went out on a limb with these very expressive sculpts. It's a shame they seem to be getting such a negative reaction.
Its Ok they will probably just end up as a new Grail that everyone wants like PZ.

I do. I'd love Shaun and Ed in 1/6 scale sweetness--but not these. I'd love a decent 1/6 Jedi Luke too--but not one sculpted after the Gerber baby.
