My initial thoughts on viewing these...

Hate the Shaun facial sculpt. Looks far too baggy round the eyes to be Pegg, but I'm hoping that with a wee bit of work on my part he could 'pass'.

The costume, is...well, average to say the least. Should be a lot better considering the much higher price tag.

Edd's sculpt is better. It catches his personality far better then Peggs, but the costume still is a bit lack luster.

After saying that I am a huuuuge fan of this film, and so I've ordered myself a pair. Could do with a bit of dirtying down for that price, but I'll have to do that myself.

As others before me have said I do hope that they bring out more variants/characters in this line.

You can see why they did these. Cult film, easy costumes to reproduce, and compliments beautifully their own 'Dead' line.

I'm just so pleased to see more 1/6th scale figures rather then more of those bloody expensive PF statues. And something that isn't Star Wars.....! Who would have thunk it!! :rotfl

What's funny is I bet if they gave them straight faces we would be hearing "OMG SS zombie stare strikes again. Why can't they give their figures expressive faces? " blah blah blah.

one word---- TOYS

Articulation, play with, pose, fun! Not heart attack. :lol

I'm not having a heart attack. I may even buy them after they're released--but the initial response from some people is that the face on Shaun is less than flattering and that their costs don't really reflect onto a quality product. I'm actually JAZZED that Sideshow is STILL EVEN MAKING 1/6 scale figures. And I'm jazzed that they grabbed such an odd license from such a great cult movie. But I won't apologize for not being at Sideshow's teet when then have some great MAJOR announcement. World of Warcraft? Huh?

It is refreshing to see a new, non mega license. And, I guess the film was decent enough, but I agree that for what you get that's a bit high priced for a SS figure. Of course, if the Simon Pegg production piece looks good maybe he can be converted into Star Trek X's Scotty.

Boy with all the complaints about this line...I had to double check and make sure I hadn't stepped into SW territory! :lol :lol But if Sideshow pays attention to what's been said and it helps to actually improve the appearance of the characters before they go into production...well then I won't complain that others are complaining.

This is Sean of the Dead!! How can the head sculpt be anything but exaggerated and goofy.

I agree!! I personally love them both and ordered right when they were announced. I can agree that they look a bit glossy but I'm totally psyched about these figures and now I have two YES TWO!!! Dead figures to pose along side them.....now I just need to get my hands on a security guard!! :D

No complaints on the head sculpts from me.

I think they're fun....not $60 each fun mind you. Not when thats like the same price as the 2Palpatine figures.

I don't mind the expressions. There's just something seriously off about the sculpts. They look so gaunt. Like it needs to be toned down

I placed an order for these because I'm a fan of Simon Pegg's "Spaced," not because I'm a fan of Shaun of the Dead. :lol

I agree... and sure $60 is a lot of money... but there are few companies 1/6 figures that are less than that these days... and most are much more (Medicom Saw).

Even within SSC there have been much better deals to be found for $60 in the last year.

Theres no way these should be $5 more than Bespin Luke. Or only $5 less than Faramir.

:horse

Well here's a novel idea: you don't have to buy it!!! :D :D :D :monkey3:monkey3

Prog's inevitable response:

:lol;)

:lol:lol:lol:lol I just don't see the point moaning about prices...that's not going to change. Constructive criticism on the paint app and what not may get noticed by SSC since I doubt these are in production yet and may still be able to be tweaked...but the price...come on!!! $60 is very reasonable for a figure these days as others have pointed out. Plus, I think with the exclusives we are getting some great accessories to go along with them!!!

Only thing that really needs any fixing is Ed's outfit/padding. He looks too slim for Ed and therefore I think the clothes aren't looking right, although he does just have goofy long-shorts and socks :lol Shuan's eyes could be centered, but if they at least pull of the off-to-the-side look in production, I'd be fine with it.

The sculpts and expressions are spot on though. Even their ticky hair styles. Short spikey type hair seems very hard to pull off in any scale.
