Should Hot Toys "RE-DO" their AVP & ALIENS lines?

i don't demand more marines. they'll just make the same thing with updated base bodies.
they still won't look like the actors and now HT will expect $150 for scifi military figures.

also, this entire argument is moot since HT didn't care about your Aliens warrior disintegrating on the shelf the first time around.
it's not like they'll go through the expense of remaking it out of some guilt trip. they already got your $$.

What I'm saying is this, the Marine figures all go for well over $200 bucks and some go for twice that, so the demand is definitely there. If you have these and don't see the need for HT to make more, well, that's great, but HT would stand to make a decent amount of money by revisiting these characters... especially if they score the rights to the actors likenesses.

Bishop would also be cool.

Older HT figures frequently did not have likeness rights, but HT is a much bigger/more profitable company now than it used to be. I say that the Marines should be revisited, and I am one who just shelled out $100 for an updated, custom Hicks head

I read online that even their old Alien and Pred figs from AVP (especially the Alien Warrior) were not very visible from inside the box, so one leg had to be hidden, just to make sure no one went "Wait a second, that's a full unlicensed Alien!"

i'm gonna guess the majority of the demand for $200+ marines is from collectards who just buy ____ because they think it's rare.

and i'd love a Bishop figure. but i doubt HT will get the likeness, so we'd get a guy in a blue coveralls.

Either way, there's better characters from Dutch's squad that were more deserving AND could have given the rights more easily (i.e., Blain or Dillon).
I agree, Billy Sole's cool and all, but why they gave him blonde hair, I have no idea. I think it'd have been okay to just give him a dark brown color. I'd settle for that. Maybe more of a brunette. The final product is just ridonkulous.

The Marines and Alien warrior need to be redone.
I mean, the movie is fantastic and Hot Toys seem to pursue licenses that they feel a personal connection too (Ex. Mars Attacks).
Im all for an Aliens toy line reboot. I would buy every one.

All of their Alien figures are licensed.

So, that comment is not correct.

But, just because they have a license for a movie does not mean that they automatically have the license to the human characters in that movie.
That's a whole other set of licenses that they have to aquire.

That's where the problem with the Colonial Marines and Ripley came from.

Only got into 1/6 Collecting at Xmas because I saw HT Darkknight line and T:S line and when I found out HT did Aliens. I was like hell yes I gotta get me some but then I seen the sculpts and was like hell no aint paying that much for that crud.

I would happily spends hundreds if they revisited the line and brought it into the same quality of their standards today.

Would piss a lot of people off who have spent a fortune on that line at today prices. Yes I understand supply and demand and know why they are that price but for me the quality just aint their to spend ££££

I have always kept a light of hope shimmering that they might go back and do the other Predators from P2. The P1 is awesome and IMO does not need redoing.

The AVP Preds could only get better, but I'm not sure they'd be worth doing. The Aliens, however, would be great candidates for redoing, IMO. I'd love to have them in my collection, but they are just too poorly constructed. I had high hopes for the Big Chap, but the face and mouth kept me from buying. Maybe they will revisit these licenses if Predators does well.

That said, I tend to believe the experts here. If they say "no way", then odds are that it won't happen. IMO.

You can get all kinds of marvellous sculpts for your ALIENS figures.

Well, i hope for more other pieces, like the ALIENS ,,Alien queen''.
I mean, this is something thats realy missing in the HT ALIENS line.
I even asked for the cockpit of the dropship with Ferro and SpunkY
Also they could redo the ALIEN Warrior, ar far as i know this is one of the
Top 3 of figures that sucked by HT.

Obviously, this doesn't mean they can get the rights to all the relevant actors, or that it will be worth the cost to get all of them, but it might be worth their while to do so.

As for D-Chaos's post, can you show me a single, awesome-looking Bill Paxton as Hudson sculpt? There are a couple decent Hicks heads, but I haven't even seen a truly great Ripley, though there have been a couple good attempts.

I just got one H2O Hudson and Apone last week
they are realy great, hudson even has a perfect fit for the helmet.
Also end of last week, i got the last of the first load of ripley heads by Darren carnall realy has a lot more ripley-likeness.
Will post some pics later this week, count on sunday.
Just wondering who i will choose for painting it.
BTW, i only know the Darren Carnall sculpt, and the original HT, i saw a ripley from ALIEN but never more.
