As some of you know I make youtube videos and this was the comment on one for a hot toys predator.

" those geeks need to donate some of that discretionary income to helping those who are less fortunate. "

I think what he was basically trying to say was , don't spend your money on things that aren't necessary to live and instead give it to the less fortunate.

This was my reply..

" are you aiming that at me ?.
Instead of waisting your time moaning why don't you go out and work to give them some money yourself. I give alot to charity for your information and I will do whatever I want with my money thats spare , I'm ill myself and have been in hospital the last 4 years and nearly ended up dead. I don't drink , don't smoke and don't cause mayhem on the streets like some people my age in the society I live.
Don't come to my videos and judge me "

I am hoping he will reply.
Whats your opinion on this matter , I haven't been offended at all by this as I do actually really give alot to charity , probably more than him. :rotfl
Just thought it might be a good discussion.

yes, we should be donating more to charity. HOWEVER these funds should be taken from our high percentage taxes that we pay when we make the money and when we spend the money. with what we pay, this country should have no homeless and no hungry. our u.s government spends inappropriately.

in the netherlands i'm told you pay just as much tax as we do in america, but that includes health care, higher education costs and fair retirement benefits. can anyone from the netherlands confirm this and tell us how it works there? just ticks me off knowing that our tax dollars are pissed away foolishly. america could be so much more. imagine the possibilities.

Well, I donate to charity here and there myself... I've given money to bums on the street, Hell... I have given bums on the street free beer. :duff

Don't let people like that bother you. We collectors sacrifice for our stuff, I know I forgo other things I need... like clothes, shoes and such for my collection. I bet that person that messaged you has nice clothes in his closet, probably a ton of waaay too expensive shirts that say Hollister or A&F... probably a bunch that are pink. :lol

People like that make me laugh, they talk about us like we should donate all our money to charity... just as they whip out their $500 cell phone and call in a $50 sushi order. I respect those who CAN donate tons of cash to a good cause, especially if they are poor themselves or living with the people they are helping... But not some self righteous ******* who thinks collecting is an empty hobby, a waste of cash as it were. :banghead

I never gave money to charity and sleep very well at night.

The person who wrote that obviously spent money on buying a computer to use, thats disposable income right there, they should have given that to charity rather than be selfish and buy a computer
Then they can have the nerve to call others on their spending habits, they should take a closer look at themselves.

I say it's our hard earned money and we can do whatever we want to with it. I realize that person has a right to his own opinion, but he doesn't have the right to throw a stereotype (geek) towards someone that has a particular hobby. Everybody is different and does different things. I think it's something that poster probably wasn't thinking when he left that idiotic comment.

I don't give anything away to charity. I don't have the kind of money to give it to some organization to do whatever they want to with it. If I knew 100% that the money was directly going towards those that the donations go to, that would be one thing. Does that make me a bad person? If it does, is it fair that my company has me drive out 3 days a week using my own car, pay my own gas and use my own car, budget for my own taxes (because my fortune 500 company lists their employees as independants), pay for my own heath/medical, never get any sick time/personal days/vacation. Sorry, I get pissed when people get on their soapbox telling people what to do and how to spend their own money. People have their own minds about how things get spent and what extra things they have. I buy my collectibles because it's what I enjoy and if the person that typed that on youtube don't like it...tough ^^^^^.

too true. He probably also has a printer , tv , xbox 360 and so on. :rotfl:lol

Well I donate every month to my church because they offer a lot of programs that I think greatly help our community. I also make donations to Children's Hospital here in Seattle and other local organizations where I know the money I donate is being well spent. Could I donate more....sure....but i work hard for my money and feel I deserve the collectibles and other fun things I buy. If I was just working and paying bills and donating everything away, my life would be pretty dismal.

I give to those that really need it, you know what i hate is when a guy in his 30's trying to pass him self as a veteran(piss of shett). I think to my self, " matha' bunker why dont go get a job"!!
and if you do give them money for food they go running to the liquor store to buy beer.

I would never give money to my old Church after seeing the crap they would waste it on.:lol:lol:lol

I hate that too, especially being a Veteran myself. Guys like that have all the skills they need to get work in the world, especially after being in. It's their own faults they ended up on the streets, drinking their lives away.

And for those who LIE and say they are vets just for sympathy... They deserve to have their teeth kicked in. :banghead

Bingo.. way to much charity money never even gets to who really needs it. I do give to some smaller places that I know for sure where the $ is going.
