That's almost unbelievable, jkno, but I can believing it..as my Sandy's leg armor broke after he fell about 8ft off the counter to the floor.

I was checking out the Gentle Giant head sculpts...those would be perfect to recast and use if they are the right size. Anyone ever tried?

If I remember correctly, the Gentle Giant Trooper helmet originated as a scan from a screen used ANH Trooper helmet. I think they cleaned up the scan a bit too much though because something doesn't look quite right to me. I prefer the Marmit helmets.

Interesting. I haven't fully examined them, but they look spot in as Stormtrooper Stunt helmets, slightly off on Sandtrooper. But still a great cast as far as accuracy..and variety for the troops.

Yes, they do look good and I guess it's nice to know that it came from a digital scan of the real stunt helmet - even if it was cleaned up a bit. I'd be interested to see what this GG helmet looks like if you put it with either the Marmit armor or the SS armor.

Well was bored and snapped a couple for yah guys. The GG is smaller and might look odd on a marmit or SS. I replaced the medicoms with marmits.

WOW! Incredible display sewy. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get a Marmit hero helmet? I see the Marmit sandtrooper and stormtrooper stunts...but there's a hero in there too. I never have seen those before.

Also, you're display on the Terminator is amazing. What a room!

Thanks for posting these pics.

Solo, it's too bad this isn't the 50's or earlier, you'd make a killing going door to door finding people's lost needles (in their hay stacks). ;) Eagle eye. I still don't see the difference except for the tiny one that belongs on the bust.

Thanks Bones. Marmit made a plain stormtrooper with the hero helmet. Guessing there pretty tough to find now. kept the helmet but got rid of the rest.

Unfortunately the GG Stormie/Sandie helmets from their mini-busts, which are by the way quite accurate, are a bit too small, not being true 1:6 scale. Thus Marmits would be better in size for 1:6.

Lol....well, I've got to admit, you had me second guessing myself, but it does in fact look like Marmit made a hero helmet version, albeit hard to find these days. I'm really contemating using a 3D printer to give me a sculpt for casting. Not knowing anything about it I can't say if it would be worth while.

Ok, enough's enough... I gots to know. ;) Which helmet specifically in those images is the Marmit Hero and which is the Marmit stunt. Then, how do you tell apart the different Marmit Stormtrooper releases? I have what I thought was the only Marmit Stormtrooper released.

hero is far right with lower brow and bubbled lenses while the stunt is far left with higher brow, flat lenses. That's how you can tell from the pics above, however there are more differences!

I've never seen a Marmit "Stormtrooper" helmet that doesn't look like the one on the far right, including the one I own, which is new in package. The Marmit "Sandtrooper" helmet is different and has a higher brow, of which I also have a new-in-package example (sergeant).

That's why I didn't see what was being talked about for that image. I just saw two (Marmit) SANDtrooper helmets and one (Marmit) STORMtrooper helmet. ;)

In the movie, this brow moves around from trooper to trooper and scene to scene because the piece is loose, not attached to the helmet all the way around - you can even see that in many scenes the brow is quite crooked.

When I last read a description of the helmet creation process for ANH (we had this discussion in this thread, including links), I don't recall the brow line being one the the differences between hero and stunt helmets. In any case, the stunt/hero thing is a production error, since all trooper helmets are supposed to look pretty much exactly the same, except for the by-design tech differences of the ones supposed to be used in a desert environment (Tatooine) and helmets otherwise marked by wear and tear plus weathering which gives additional realism.

The hero has fewer teeth....and a low brow. Look at the Stormtrooper on the far left..the teeth are 3 on one side while stunt has 4-5. I think there is only one storm trooper release but it is a hero helmet. I think the confusion is in that there were two helmets in the movie A New Hope where stormtroopers also used stunt helmets, not just hero.

Yes, Hero had the appearance of a lower brow which is the face plate set higher, bubble lens, fewer painted teeth and a couple other small details. Here are some shots to help out the discussion.

And the Marmit helmet looks good on the Kotobukiyas as well.
