The helmet isn't the worst feature on the SSC stormies but looks like these ears are smaller at least. On the pictures from the front it does look more like the SSC helmet I think.

Something's not quite right with the helmet, I'd thought maybe they were too symmetrical...hard to say but so far Marmit still looks better; thing is these are just protos and the quality appears to be amazing.

I doubt the price on SS stormtroopers will ever hit the floor, so don't worry about holding onto them for a long time to come. Besides, if you're a fan and collector, you need to have at least the Marmit, SSC and HT versions.

Never thought about selling off my Sideshow figures while upgrading to hot Toys. Expecially with faceless troopers, it won't hurt to have a few to fill up display backgrounds.

Why is everyone selling suddenly? You can't have stormies from different companies?

Marmit, Sideshow, Hot Toys -- all good. Three different troopers yet same on shelf to everyone but you.

You forgot Medi. Everyone always forgets Medi.

Somehow I think a lot of it can be put down to the psychology of thinking that the piece you now have will one day be worth less, so best sell it at its peak market price. Maybe?

We're talking 1/6 here :lecture

There are still people who argue the Medi Boba is fully 1/6 compatible. All the parts - their volume/scale - are 1/7. It's not just about height.

Not sure Medi still make SW figs anyway. I think the 4-LOM was the last one they did and it just seemed to be ignored. And with all this HT heat, I'm guessing it's time to call it a day.

A pity Marmit was the one who didn't make the distance - they had some great pieces well over 10 years ago (their stormtrooper still looks great with work and their Vader is an unreleased grail.) Imagine where they'd be now.

I was just being a bit facetious 'cause it's easy to dump on Medicom. But I'd argue it's easier to overlook Boba's scale because that character can more easily be considered a stand-alone piece. The stormtroopers though a lot of people would liked to have paired with Vader but for Medi's Vader being ridiculously small and Sideshow's ridiculously large.

I like the Medi stormie because the RAH bodies pose really well, and it's fun to play with. But the RAH bodies back then were brittle, and prone to snapping in a light breeze. I ended up getting rid of mine... the shortcomings were just too obvious to overlook.

I own Medicom, Sideshow and Marmit Stormtroopers and will keep all of them and get the HT too. Each one is cool on its own, and also has its own flaws at the same time.

What are the flaws with the Marmit stormie?

I just have the sandtrooper.

Being a kit, armor too soft, SSC has better belt, canister, E11 blaster.

Interesting - see what you mean about the soft armor sculpt, but with the sandie there's so much other stuff (weathering + gear) you don't notice it as much as on the stormie.

I bashed a temporary stormie using a cast of the Marmit Sandie helmet and (heavily) reshaped Hasbro stormie armor and it looks surprisingly good - well, for something that cost me about $20 all up. Once tightened and painted, the Hasbro armor looks pretty decent and sharp. With a SSC E-11 blaster he blends in among the imperials. He'll do until the HT stormies arrive.:lol
