I own Medicom, Sideshow and Marmit Stormtroopers and will keep all of them and get the HT too. Each one is cool on its own, and also has its own flaws at the same time.

I have all 3 also and agree with your statement. The HT Stormtrooper will have it's flaws also, just wait till we get the production model pictures. :lecture

Yes, HT has never made a flawed figure ever! Their figure threads have no complaints whatsoever. :cuckoo:

Far more complaints than Sideshow's threads usually. Not that they're all deserved of course. Hot Toys makes good stuff, Sideshow makes good stuff. If you limit your purchases to a single brand, you're going to lose out. Period.

Totally agree. I just don't want people to mislead others with this "Hot Toys is perfect" talk.

HT is not synonymous to perfection. They will improve on Sideshow shortcomings (production painting and tailoring) but will certainly make mistakes of their own.

This will be like v2.0 for Hot Toys since had a hand in the development of SSC's stormtrooper.

Anyway, my only hope is that they are able to stand on their own without flipping over right out of the box.

This is my cheapo trooper - cast my Marmit Sandie helmet, and used reshaped/tightened old Hasbro stormie armor and jumpsuit. Shoes are just some 1/6 leather-type shoes with the molded laces cut off. Blaster is obviously SSC.

It isn't really finished (prob never will be) - extra sandie forearms haven't been painted, chest armor hasn't been cut down. It cost nothing at all but was a ton of work (painting helmet...) and I'd never do it again.:slap:lol

It was designed to be background in the Imperials display, will be replaced by the HT stormies when they arrive.:yess:

HT' flaws in comparison to SSC' are a matter of perspective though. SSC makes approximation SW figures, & HT - while sure, have their weaknesses too, get the basics right MOST times, to say the least.

I'm not a HT fanboy really - although for a time I was pretty unconditionally fond of their stuff, I've just never really been a fan of SSC, bar the odd figure here & there..

Great custom Stormie Tali - nice work!! :hi5:

Talibane, that's actually a pretty good trooper. I imagine it was a ton of work indeed, but you should be proud of him! Nice work to make Hasbro stormie armor look that good.

Indeed they will.

Not sure yet. Let's see the released figure first. Marmit still holds its grounds today as being the most accurate (proportionally wise and helmet)

Exactly. HT has its fair share of fails. Some bigger than others. Let's hope this won't be one of those.

I am lazy so glad I waited for HT.

That's some great work, and a lot of it. So why would you ditch it when HT releases there's? Just keep it in the background. As long as its not right next to the HT it'll still fit in nicely.
