Marmit Stormtrooper still looks a great figure.

The same laws in Tunisia forced ILM to use heavily modified Sterlings called Baptys, with aluminum back part and no trigger.

The MG-34 has an inner barrel that had to be removed after sustained firing and be replaced with a new one till the other cools down.

As for the MG-15 without the inner barrel look here:

The Lewis Mark I machine gun was not German

The Imperial uniforms in SW were inspired by the WW1 Ulanka/Uhlanka uniforms:

Also Resembles a Civil War Confederate Officers uniform.

Sergiu, I live in New Orleans, home of the World War II Museum and every so often they do a "Dine with the Curator" event that is based on the weapons of Star Wars. They show all the weapons (the real ones) that were modified and used in the films, even the grenade parts for Obi Wan's saber hilt. Needless to say, I have been and afterwards, they let you handle the weapons, wearing gloves. That MG34 is a heavy beast. If you ever make it over here, I highly recommend it. Nothing you don't already know, but handling the weapons and seeing how modifications were made, was very cool, IMO.

That sounds like an awesome event!

Hey guys. I didn't know where to ask so I figured I'd just do it here.

Can anyone elaborate on the fit of the Gentle Giant AT-TE Tank Gunner accessory kit on a Sideshow clone trooper?

Since I own a dem. Sterling Stormtrooper blaster I know this is quite heavy, and when some people ask about comparison with a resin blaster is amusing. The MG34 is very heavy, but I think in SW they removed the inner replaceable barrel completely (they did that with the MG15, visible in Sandie scenes with Obi and the speeder).

A necessary upgrade on my old Marmit AT-AT Driver figure - thanks to a cool member who helped me with old Hasbro 12" AT-AT Driver hoses - not 100% perfect, but much better than original Marmit hoses:

Very cool! There are some very rare items there from the point of view of a SW fan, like that Webley (hopefully it is a Webley), the Mauser and the MG34. No Sterling though?

They had a Sterling. I guess it was on another table. They had a MG15, too. Everything here is the real deal and in full working order. The curator said that the photostrobe was just as hard to come by as any of the weapons. He seemed to think the Sturmgewehr 44 was probably the most rare in good working order, but yes, the Webley is authentic and surprisingly light compared to many of the others.

They will be more impressive once I open them and add them to the rest of my Stormies...

You're using a literal underground railroad like a pipeline, aren't you? You should just cut Sideshow right out of it and have them all shipped factory direct. ;)

Can't believe that some of the Sideshow clone troopers are gone up in price on eBay. Over $200 for a deluxe clone.
