I don't remember him beating Robin, but he does lock him in the Batcave and leaves him to fend for himself (I think he even suggests that if Robin gets hungry, he should catch himself a rat). Batman gets all over Alfred for going behind his back to take care of the boy (Alfred, an ex-SAS agent, gives as good as he gets).

If I recall, Batman is conflicted about his treatment of Grayson. He claims he's trying to harden the boy the way he was hardened --- but he also acknowledges that he's a bit of an ass to the kid.

Yeah he sounds like quite an ass, but I could never hate Batman. :love Would still like to get that figure.

wow - I never got past issue 2, but it seems like I did myself a favour really... I will admit the artwork in the series was stunning though - I'm a big fan of Jim Lee.
I think the 'Hush' DC Direct figure is a better representation of Batman myself. Over the years DC Direct have actualy produced some awesome Batman figures - top 5 for me would have to be: (in no particular order)
Arkham Asylum Batman
Batman & Son Batman
ALex Ross Justice Series 2 Batman
Hush Series 1 Batman
Justice League of America Series 2 Batman

I really like DC Direct. their secret files line was pretty cool. I feel like DCUC doesn't really always capture the grit of the batman world, even when they do modern designs, The DCSH batman is pretty flawless to me. That being said, have you seen the new batman legacy batman they showed at that chicago expo with the light blue eyebrows. Pretty friggin cool!

All right guys, this will be a nice one in my collection. It's not in my hands yet, but it will be. A good, good friend of mine is giving me as a present, an original PENGUIN prop from BATMAN RETURNS!! This is not one of the electronic penguins (I wish), but it's one of the many background penguins or "extras" for many of the penguin lair shots. They were all numbered and this one is #13 as you can see in the picture. It also has a Burton/Winston writing at the bottom from when they were put in storage.
Ahh, the advantages of living in L.A.! Check out the pictures my friend sent me:

I like Frank Miller's stuff -- his interpretation is kinda edgy. "The goddamn Batman" is a slightly psychotic hardass, Black Canary is a Batman-wannabe barmaid, Wonder Woman is a man-hater, Vicki Vale is an extremely shapely golddigger, Green Lantern is a bit of an idiot (Batman makes fun of the stupid "yellow" weakness), Superman is a boyscout, Alfred is ex-special ops, the Joker has a giant dragon tattoo across his back. The whole thing has a noir feel to it ... I actually liked it a lot.

I have to say, i've never been interested in All Star B&R as it didnt sound that interesting, but that last paragraph has actually made me a little more interested.

I like my Batman a bit unhinged, I guess.

I certainly found it interesting. I like Miller's stuff -- it is over-testosteroned, and completely unapologetic about it. Guess that's my kinda thing. Nobody else could get away with writing Batman as freaking Dirty Harry, Wonder Woman as a man-hating-type, Alfred as a badass that'll go nose-to-nose with Bruce when Bruce is out of line, the Joker as a tattooed muscular clown that murders women after he sleeps with them ...

... and Vicki Vale as ... this ...

It is as if a Batman story took place in the Sin City universe. It was unique enough to hold my interest, and shameless enough to be admirable, I suppose. The artwork is at least worth a look.

Mr. Zsasz is still a work in progress, but pretty pleased with him so far

Looks great RollingJ! Is that the headplay Neeson, did you mod the hair, or just add the facial hair? What did you use?

Thanks. I just sculpted on the facial hair using epoxy putty. I think the head is a wee bit undersized, but looks okay. Glad to finally have a Ra's. Will make a sword/walking stick for him soon, but gonna do Zsasz first.

Zsasz is wild looking :D. Can you tell me what kind/brand of epoxy putty, and where to get it. Thanks
