Yep! It's from the first book.

Awesome, love Peterson's work, and am eagerly looking forward to the hardcover edition of Winter! Bought my issue 4 page 22 original from the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund two years ago, and admire it every day. It's a great page showing all three Liam, Kenzie, and Saxon!

Sorry for that, back to tattoos...

Finally decided to bite the bullet and brand myself

I'm probably going to be joining this thread next month. I plan on getting a tat on my shoulder.

Just got mine done today.

Dr. Manhattan on the left forearm and Tony Stark's Arc Reactor on the right. I love them....although they are addicting....I'm already thinking of my next two. :lol

You should have gotten the arc reactor done with the black light ink so that it would glow.

I have been thinking of getting a tattoo lately. But it would have to be something pretty special for my wife to dig on it. I have no clue what to get yet.

Is that Handrail???!! :lol

Okay, mine's done - here it is right after it was done. It looks great there. Now it's all scabby and cracked with a lot of the scabs already off (I just got it done this past Sat). I heal really fast and I think my body pushed some of the ink out so I will probably have to get it retouched :( But it wasn't bad at all, pain-wise:

Dusty's got the date of my Bday (minus the year ;) ) tatoo'd :lol (sorry if thats creepy)

Not sure how I would feel about glowing :lol Anyway I really like the monochromatic look of tattoos. Nothing against those who prefer color in theirs but something about the black and skin coloring I always preferred. They are addicting though because I'm already planning out my next three that I'll probably get in the summer :lol

I prefer only black as well... although I saw a really cool one on a girl's back the other day that was very very colorful... a big dragon/bird thing. But I would never get one on my back, I couldn't imagine the discomfort while it heals!!

They are definitely addicting!

Tattoo aftercare- what's the buzz? Should I apply lotion frequently and how often should I wash it? I want my colors to stay vibrant so ink drop out is a huge no-no for me. I will probably become a vampire to avoid the sun now. :lol

:lol :lol I know I have ocd and so when I get my tats I'm gonna be all up tight about them :lol I'll get all upset if I bump into something and make sure it didn't scratch :lol

My guy told me no lotion for the first week. Just wash it a few times a day with warm water and anti-bac soap. No direct sun and no submerging it in water for 2 weeks minimum. I did that and at first I thought it was messed up, but now that the scabs have mostly fallen off, it looks pretty darn good! (it's been a week)

Really? My guy told me to wash it like normal but let it dry completely then apply Baby Lotion because it works better than anything that they sell from the parlors or in the stores and less is more, to just put a small amount on them twice a day. He said it'd help with not itching the scabs and no direct sun as well. The scabs have fallen off and they look great, dark as they were when I first got them.

I've always been told to use a scent free lotion (not petroleum based) - sparingly, but often as well....

Just another reason for me not to get a tattoo. I am too lazy to maintain that ^^^^.:lol:lol:lol

There is so much information out there about aftercare and they all suggest different things! :google:lol It's hard to know what to do honestly. These are the things that keep popping up in most articles so I am going with these suggestions... I guess. :lol

1) Leave bandage on for at least 2 hours.
2) Gently wash with lukewarm water. Use an antibacterial soap.
3) Gently pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel.
4) Apply only a light amount of fragrance free lotion to moisten the skin. (Supposedly this helps with healing and prevents the tattoo from scabbing or weeping. Blood and plasma are the things that make scabs.)
5) Do not soak tattoo or expose it to sun for at least 2 weeks.
6) Do not pick at or scratch the tattoo.

I hope I haven't missed anything. :D

Those with tattoo sleeves- how did you find an artist and what was the process like? How did the exchange of ideas flow between you and the artist and how long did it take from concept to finish? I have had this great idea for a while now but it's tough to put it down on paper, let alone getting it tattooed. :lol

What do the scabs look like guys and how long after the tattoo was done did they appear? Are they just like the scabs you get when you skin your knee only colored or are they different in another way? Just wondering... I am curious about what's to come. :lol
