Wife and I are getting a house built at the moment so all I have heard about is getting a dog for the last couple of years ( we just did not think it was fair to have a dog in our apartment ). I have suggested many times on getting a maltese because they are small, easy to care for ( compared to other breeds ), Can have long life spans, long haired / do not shed nearly as much, smart and so darn cute ( look at the pictures ...dawwwwwww ). For some reason she is dead set against getting one and I can not figure out why. As a child our first dog was a Maltese ( Princess ) and she was in my family for 16 years before we had to put her down. She was a great pet up until she got around 14-15 years old and she got really mean.

What can I say to convince her that its a good breed to get....I have tried everything
