I sure hope at least the suit is weathered. Thinking now will they risk this figure and root the hair or just sculp it?

A lot of people have mentioned the rooted hair, but I don't think they will do that. I hope not, SSC aren't talented enough to get that right.

Actually I can see them doing decent enough job with this.
It's not like his worn black n white tuxedo is delicate and body parts require realistic approach.

Hopefully since Beetle doesn't need to look human, they can do a good job with it

I completely forgot this was a license for them. I hope we see something soon

I really hope for rooted hair. I think pulling this figure off with sculpted may be even more difficult.

Beetlejuice doesn't have the type of hair you can root. It would need to be glued on. They did something similar years ago with one of their Hobo Zombie from The Dead series.

I think the I was thinking glued but everybody here uses the term rooted. I know the difference but I think people use it as non sculpted hair instead of hair plugs inside the head.

I've gotta say, considering the disappointment that Snake is (or maybe more appropriate to call it "the standard status quo release that Snake is for SSC"), my excitement about this guy has dropped considerably. At the very least you've gotta reckon on getting a sculpt repaint. I cannot see SSC investing in a process for "real" hair at this point. And if they did, I would be terrified to see the end result. Better to stick with sculpted hair IMO.

Yeah a repaint and a hairing will likely have to be done to make this one right... but I will give SSC the benefit of the doubt. I also have deep concerns over the Temple of Doom Indy.

Im concerned about Indy because it will be almost a hundred dollars more than snake and to have QC issues or bad paint will be the worst joke ever.

Don't forget about a new suit :lol 1/6 scale suits are tough to get right, even the ones by HT don't always look great. The repaint might not be necessary. I got the SSC 1/6 Joker, and the sculpt and paint are good, maybe because it's a comic version, not realistic/human, but Beetlejuice is similar that way, in that he won't look human.

It seems like either way it's a risk :lol If they sculpt the hair, it might look like cake icing on top of the sculpt, with a lack of detail, not to mention the color details they have to use, or ,might not use. If they use rooted hair, well...it goes without saying.

Yeah, but a bad paint job is at least something you could fix relatively easily (albeit at a cost many might not want to pay). Getting nicely done "real" hair is an art form few have perfected on this forum in my observations. Elvis1976, Cheungkinmen, Galactiboy, Betomatali. . .maybe a handful of others, but it's much easier to do it badly than to do it well.

My guess is that Sideshow will opt for sculpted hair, which will probably look fine. However, it will almost definitely be a separate piece which means easy to remove and then add you're own hair.

I would be amazed if Sideshow added hair, and even if they did it would likely look awful as his hair needs to go from green to blonde and be pretty wild. It's actually not too bad to do on an individual basis... but can't really see being able to mass produce it.

That would be a great case. Removable sculpted hair leaving the option for adding mohair.

Re: 1/6 SSC Beetlejuice figure

Who's sculpt is that? I'm not a big fan. Weird angle maybe.

And Sideshow has been doing separate hair pieces on figures with long hair for a long time... Anakin was done that way, and now with their love of those stupid eye plates almost all of the heads have separate hair pieces.
