Thanks for the complement Obi-Wan.
Jaymas, if at all possible you need the Tamashi 3P0. It's beautiful. Here's mine next to a Hasbro.

Beautiful Tamashi figure DarthRusty! How much articulation does it have? I wonder how the Sideshow height will compare to the Tamashi and Hasbro - Maybe right in between would be perfect.

The Tamashi 3P0's articulation is very good. I think (don't know for sure) it has the same articulation as the actual costume. A lot of people don't like the fact that they can't have him in a sitting position. But I don't think the costume could "sit" either. I know they made a tilt table for Mr. Daniels, so he could rest between shots. & of the few times in the movies 3P0 actually does sit, I think Mr. Daniels wore shiny gold shorts.
I'm excited for the SS one, because he'll be dirtied up, & his fingers will be individually articulated (the Tama's are not).
All that said, I originally didn't want to get the Tamashi 3P0. However, after looking at all the photos & reading the reviews on here by everyone who got it & loved it... I had to get it. & I'm not sorry. Was it expensive? Oh yeah! Was it worth it? Hell yeah! & doing the eye mod makes it just about perfect.

That about sums it up for me too. Well said. Haven't done the eye mod yet, but I'll get there--maybe when it's time to change the battery. And nice photo!

Thank you sir.
I have to say, doing the eye mod was crazy easy. I was freaked out, at first, as I've never really modified any of my figures before. But once I finished it, I actually laughed cause it was so easy.

From what I've read on this forum (over the years, I've read all of it... don't know if I remember all of it [emoji12]), the Tamashi is perfect 1/6th scale for hight. That's why there was such a hullabaloo over the SS R2-D2. Cause it was just a tick too small & thin. People were using the Tamashi's to get the exact hight & width R2 should'a been.

Wow. How far we've come.
That's funny. That was exactly my thoughts when I put the two together for this shot. That was the first time I had done that, & I was blown away.
Kinda reminds me of buying a movie, that as a kid I thought was soooo cool & awesome. Only to get it home, watch it, & think "How in the Hell did I ever think this was cool?!"
That was my feelings of seeing Hasbro next to Tamashi.

I remember Tamashii based the height off of the actor in the suit which just so happened to not be the actual height of C-3P0 oddly enough. If I remember correctly C-3P0 is shorter than the actor (I know I should know the name by heart I'm just coming to a blank right now haha). However, I remember reading that a long time ago so maybe my memory on it is completely wrong haha

How is that even possible?

Lucasfilm "stats" :lol

Of course it could be that 3PO's height was first recorded at Daniel's height in 1976 when filming Star Wars, but the recent 'internet stats' took 3PO's height from the PT measurements, after the actor had shrunk a bit over 30 years. Maybe that's how you get messed up stats?

That isn't really fair to compare a Hasbro piece which is a lower end figure marketed to a more casual collector with a high end 1/6th piece though. For its time and for what it is the Hasbro 3PO actually looks pretty good in my opinion. A better comparison will be between the Tamashii and the upcoming Sideshow figure.
