I don't remember seeing one on Jedha. At what I think was the trading post, I remember it in the crowd, scooting off to our right, in the background.

Yeah, that was what I saw at Jedha. I bet that's what you saw too. It's easy to get all those scenes jumbled up but there might have been another scene with it too that I missed. I know it wasn't at the beginning of the movie when I saw it though.

Sad day when such a beautiful thing must be destroyed…

Pixelpiper did you convert your to run off AC power?

Ya, but I completely by-passed the built-in electronics and used my own LEDs. I made the primary LED white and tinted the exterior lens, plus added an extra one to the left of the BIG eye where I had to drill out the original lens and create a new one tinted dark red. I tossed around a few ideas for connecting power and at first I was going to hang it from the ceiling of the shelf from really thin electrified wire. Instead I came up with an idea to support it with two metal arms from behind, one connected to positive an one to negative. The arms connect to ports I made in two cylinder-shaped bits on the bottom of the droid's body.

Now it looks like it just floats in space and the lights come on when I turn on the lighting to the rest of the displays in the office.

The short part of the supports sits on the outside/back of the shelving unit, attached to a block of wood using the loops, where I've also soldered the power wire connections. The ends of the supports slip into the ports I've made on the cylinders which you can see one of in the photo. On the inside of the body the wires terminate in a mini connector which then connects to a mating connector from the LEDs in the head.

Anyone shorten the pole or replace it with a shorter one to fit in a spot? If so, what pole. Thinking I need to shorten it about 2".

I asked a question.

:rotfl

If you haven't received an answer, then that's because either no one has shorten the pole or they simply wish to keep you in suspense... :wink1:

I recommend getting the following and cut to size: https://www.ebay.com/itm/301064676503

If you prefer in black, you can paint it or they may have one in smoke.

Here's a quick pic of how mine looks like:

I'd worry about that acrylic rod bending over time. I take it that hasn't been an issue for you guys?
