loving the pics! But yeah, the other issue is that the batteries are very tough to change. It took me 15 mins and the feeling I was going to break something to get the batteries out. While it's a beautifully made piece, the battery change aspect was not very well thought out.

I wish pieces like this would have an AC Plug instead of batteries. They could easily run a cord from the base and it wouldn't be an eye-sore.

An AC plug would have been better than low quality tiny cell batteries. I don't keep any cell batteries in my collectibles. And the Probot is perfect without lights and sound too

I think Sideshow missed a good opportunity in having added a motion sensor to the Probe Droid.

Would be easier to activate the lights and sound effects without having to hunt down for the switches. Just wave a hand in front of the sensor and off it goes, "frimmin on the frim fram, frimmin on the fram..."

Oh that would have been very cool, the probe sensing motion. I have $280 in reward points and am not sure with what to get. I'm leaning towards the snowtrooper 2 pack.

Good choice if you go for the Snowtrooper 2-pack.

My replacement head comes tomorrow (due to lights not working). I'm thinking I'll remove both the batteries in this. I had a tv remote I hadn't used in a little while that I tried and it didn't work. The AA Duracells had corroded. I have found so many Duracells leaking that I won't use them anymore. They used to be the best, not sure what happened...but I don't trust any batteries in anything I care about anymore.

Yeah, it seems to me that over the past five years or so as more and more of the knockoff/foreign (name brand but often with some Chinese writing on them) and cheapo/dollar store type batteries flooded the market, the bigger manufacturers have started to cut corners to compete with the lower prices. So their batteries - even though a bit cheaper than they used to be - are also lesser quality. I had a domestic duracell one ooze acid onto a child's electronic set - couldn't believe it.

It's getting to be like hardware type products where even major brands are likely made in the same factories as the cheapo versions.

Exactly. Different brands, same product. True of just about every massed produced product.

You guys must be pretty young, because I remember Duracell, Energizer, Eveready and pretty much all brands leaking when left in all manner of toys/products going back to the 70's. This is nothing new. :rotfl

I've never seen leakage in a device that's used regularly (main remote for instance, kids' night-lights, etc.)

Doh. Missed this one. Would have been nice next to my Gentle Giant Luke on Taun Taun. Didn't think it would sell out. Oh well.

I guess my phone is playing tricks on me. Would love to order today! Anyone have a code or coupon for me!?!? Who's in the holiday spirit!? Lol.

If you just google sideshow toy and click on the first ad link on google you'll get a new $25 code generated.

Yeah it keeps rejecting that code also saying you have already taken advantage of this offer with a different code from the same batch. Well then wtf put it on my home screen when I log in. Fn SSC. How do they stay in business. Lol. Won't order without a discount and won't use my points.

There's also a $30 code that generates.

This is a different batch though it's possible you used one of these at some point too.
