Can I ask, where did you order from?
I ordered direct from Sideshow once their quantity went below 30. After this long a wait, I decided I wasn't in a hurry and flexed it (final payment is today). There's still a ton of these available at BBTS (24+), so you can always order from them if you can't source this locally.

Was hoping it was USH and I had not received my invoice yet...I may go with BBTS, but USH was the cheapest when I PO'd last year....

So this is where and how I display my Probe Droid. It's my favourite piece and demands to be stand-alone. This is the far wall of our studio. (I think I've already mentioned I'm a minimalist.)

I'm open to trying acrylic just to see, but I do like the black support it came with.

Imperial troops...

...have entered the living room!

If I leave them there, I'm really tempted to get a third.

My girlfriend likes quirky art and superheroes, but she doesn't really like Star Wars (to put it mildly). Thing is, she likes some pieces scattered around our modern pad like exclamation marks...she does *not* like a traditional shelved display as it gives her "creepy collector vibe" as she calls it.

I do like integrating some pieces here and there.

I will definitely do that with my Hot Toys stormtroopers next year. Of course, we don't have kids or pets.

No kids means Badbot can give you the finger with impunity. (Not his permanent home...unsure on that count).

LOL...Eventually there will be a large piece of art on that wall to help set it off and give things a little depth.

Probe Droids are actually loners by nature. Fact.

WRONG! Enter the Imperial party probe droids... everyone needs party buddies. :lol

It's like he's floating on the desolate Hoth tundra...

Scouring the house for rebels. Don't know what he found but it explains the Snowtroopers busting into the living room. :panic:

Just hope they don't find the booze.

Different model. Those are Imperial Bro Droids.

And its amazing how natural those Snowies look in the corner, like real mini invaders. :clap

Thanks, I think they're pretty rockin'.

Nice place, ZE. Like the figures being displayed free of any context. Gives them a fun and surreal quality.

Thanks...only really possible with a small collection and relatively large place. Back in my old downtown apartment, I could have pulled that off just once with maybe two or three figures. As it is, in a house now I can get away with it doing a couple of pieces here and there. Helps that our space is pretty sparse and modern, design-wise.

Yeah, I keep looking at his Snowtroopers, they look oddly realistic compared to mine. :dunno

I don't actually like the snowtrooper bodies in that they're not good for neutral poses...will eventually try a Soldier Story S2 but I've spent a lot lately and don't want to mess with body swapping right now.

My snowies have had their uniforms and armour futzed and I'm not sure if you noticed that their face masks have been swapped out/modified. That makes all the difference. The rest is Nerd Hours Spent posing the hell out of them to make 'em look natural.

Troopers look great, one on the left looks straight out of the movie--if Hoth had hardwood floors. Would've been cool if SS released a less crinkled cowl too.

Local retailer received its shipment. Initially thought about skipping the Probe but both reviews and Hoth figures postponed convinced me to splash the cash. Will get it early next week along Geonosis BD 2-Pack.

Received Geonosis BD 2-Pack but not the Probe from local retailer.:(

yeah, my snowie sort of bothers me - the armor's all bunched up and I think you're right that it needs a new body. I have him in a neutral pose and it does look wrong. I was thinking a TT for it but I think the SS body might work.

I wish I had a pattern for the new cowl. I'm a bit freaked out puliing off the rubbery one.

You're in for a treat with the Probe Droid. I thought about the Geo BD's (my fave look) but too much stuff coming.

It could be leaner and longer, but my main issue is that the arms don't hang against their sides naturally.

Turns out I found a spare SS in my parts bin, so maybe in a couple of weeks when I actually have time I'll try it after all.

If you're careful, you can remove the cowl without damaging it so it can easily be replaced. It's moulded in shape so not hard.

Sorry, I've invaded the Probe Droid thread with snowtroopers. Anyway, PM me. I based my cowl patterns off 501rst costumes with minor mods to follow the slightly different SSC bucket. I'll mail 'em to you if you want.
