See that first instruction sheet with the buttons? That wasn't in my box.

A few other things of note with my droid. It's a metal tube included with the Probot, not a metal rod. Very thin wall, very crappy paint, IMO. Mine was scratched in the middle all around the tube, revealing the metal underneath in parts. The plastic base hugger has a really bad fit on the base, I can't get rid of a gap on the bottom, the interior shape just isn't perfect enough to fit the base.

Those LS images are nicely put together, I quite like them, but there are a few issues:

1. The direction to turn the top to remove it is wrong - the top panel is removed by turning CLOCKWISE, not counterclockwise.
2. There's no mention that the tabs on the top panel are KEYED, one is bigger than the other - make sure you're putting it back correctly
3. The top panel of the body (the lower half of the droid) is removable - it can be popped off and sits on three bosses - and removing it makes fiddling with the 3v cell battery MUCH easier - it also makes installing and removing the legs easier

They might not be perfect, but they helped the fans here and on a couple other boards (in the end a picture is worth a thousand words). I had no issue in assembling my own Probot, and I didn't get the first instruction sheet either, that I got from Sideshow site directly.

Had Sideshow done the right thing, no third-party instructions would have been necessary. And WRT to 1000 words, what does it say when the very first picture is completely wrong? They should fix that.

Ok, this is coming up too many times. You guys are aware that I'm not saying that the figure is difficult to work on, yeah? I'm saying that Sideshow should have included better instructions on larger paper because it's part of a complete package. One or two tiny pieces of paper or zero instructions sheets just shows an absence of thought - carelessness. Period.

I realize we're all rockstars here and don't need instructions to assemble things.

Just relax man, it's Sunday. :wave The 1000 words was for LS tutorial. I agree SSC screwed the instructions sheet, I said it on another board long ago, but they are not alone. If I'll do a check-up on all instruction sheets I got with various things in my house or at work, too many would be lacking info or even miss important things. When did you see SSC fixing something for real? That is why fans are helping each other, because companies like SSC do not really care... But fans do.

Speak for yourself; that droid is pretty much on the threshold of my abilities. :p

(Now where did I put those Life instructions? Worried I'm gonna break it...)

Everyone's relaxed. I was trying to give my out-of-box experience/overview.

One more item of note. I had to remove and reinsert the batteries for the light feature to get them to work. Removing the plastic tab and fiddling/spinning the batteries just didn't do it for whatever reason. Not sure if the switching logic on the included IC can get stuck in this way, but the contact of the batteries seemed fine and resetting the power was the only way this was made to work.

I've requested a replacement part for mine as one of the joints (leg 4) just will not stay together when the leg is in the peg making the joint weak and leg won't stay in. Hopefully sideshow will do the right thing as it seems to be a defect. Anyone else have any issues with this particular leg? (this leg joint seems to be different than the others)

Photos? I have an idea of what you're describing, but maybe I'm totally off - a photo would help for Sideshow too.

Damn right! :hi5:

Hopefully you can see the pictures. I sent some to sideshow with the split down the middle. Can't really get a good pic of the leg in the main body but the bit with the arrow is the section that comes apart when pressure is placed on the peg part. Very frustrating as i was very careful and it just popped apart due to the pressure (the connection between seems to be broken). Tried some special glue but i am going to see if sideshow have a spare as it seems to be an issue regardless of the attempted fix.

Thoughts are welcome. Just a query as i have never gone through sideshow for missing parts, breaks etc - would they send out replacements or just offer money off?

Sorry to see you're having some problems with this one, Kadman88...I hope Sideshow can help you out...

Got this droid outside today for a shot....

This is one awesome figure....one of Sideshow's best.

Jedibear sideshow have sent me out a new leg. Happy days I just hope it doesn't split apart again when trying to pop it in the base.

beautiful pic jedibear, nice work!

Agreed, instant classic figure from SSC - I love it

Just got word mine has arrived today. I'm going to pick him up later.

You'll be happy with it..., I certainly was with mine. :) I'd recommend getting a clear acrylic rod for it (if you haven't already) as it gives it a move authentic feel, as in hovering rather than pinned on a spike. ;)
