What is this sorcery? I waited too long and had to pay about $50 extra to get this but at least mine comes with the snow base. I'm on needles and pins over here waiting for the soon to be released saddle-less dewback.

Yea i dont get the reason to re release stuff with LESS. Especially competing with HT. Really cheaping out sideshow. Guess they really dont care and are just jumping on the hype.

Sideshow's 'Box without a figure inside' series is going to be awesome. :drool

And an absolute bargain at only $25 more than the original release.

I don't think the lack of a snow base is a dealbreaker...missed this the first time around.

JKNO's posts sold me on the original release after it was going for skyrocketing prices on the secondary market, so I just figured I would go without one until today.

I preordered this years ago with my local retailer but the item never arrive, so in my case this is kinda of a restock...

I did like to have the snow base, but guess I can't complain now that the Prode Droid is finally going to be in my display. :clap

I have no problem for this to be re-released, especially for fans who missed it. But why not add the snow base too? That is stupid from SSC. Anyway for the fans who missed it my advice is: BUY IT NOW!!!

If I search back in this thread, will I find anyone complaining that the snow base was an unwanted (insert insult here) accessory in the first place? I think I just might...

The SSC Probot, with snow base base or without, is one of the best, if not the best, SSC figure, it has the design quality of the best Hot Toys figures. It is like a smaller model/studio scale of the screen used Probe Droid, and with Jason Eaton contributing you can understand its quality.

I'm just not pleased with Sideshow now going back on their original promise to not re-release items. Clearly the are a different company than when they started the line.

This figure was sold out, it should remain sold out. I've lost a lot of confidence in Sideshow over the past few years and have gone from a strong supporter to a begruding customer. I find this and the re-release of Fett insulting.

Has anyone modded theirs with servos and sensors? I found a kit but it seems too pricey (for me at least) at $180.

Are you serious or joking? Re releases are great for bringing in new collectors and possibly infusing new life into stagnating lines, and if it pisses of resellers and speculators that's a plus in my book. I'm definitely buying one from Sideshow that I would have never bought from ebay or a re seller for the current prices.

I'm glad to see it go back up because I hesitated before and missed out, and didn't want to pay the higher aftermarket. I'd still rather have the snow base though. Are there any other differences between the two?

Very happy to see this available again. I was this close to pulling the trigger on ebay a month ago, so glad I did not!

Guess they should just wait for someone in China to remake them and sell them on ebay Ala Snowtrooper?

Since they ditched the snow base they could have at least painted the lens' orange/red and released it as a "Return of the Jedi" variant.
