Rook is more than just an official Sideshow photographer—he’s also a collector and fan. In fact, he started out collecting and posting on this board long before Sideshow took notice of his beautiful photographs and hired him to shoot for them (and do their posing videos!).

He is a really good guy and an incredible photographer and I trust his opinion. If he didn't like it, he would have just not said anything about it.
That's cool. Fingers crossed, then. Hope the pics surface soon and Indy ships without any further delays.

Hmm, see Indy isn't listed on the 'coming soon' section of the lastest shipping updates :(

I remember Rook's pics from the old SSC Star Wars days when we all thought they were awesome. Didn't know he was working for the man now. :clap

Does he usually drop hints like that, and if so, does that mean we'll see some production pics soon?

He did drop hints that the Luke X-Wing figure came out great, but they never updated those photos with the production figure and most people who got him say he's better with the helmet on.

Love his photos and he seems like a nice chap, but he has said this before about other disappointing figures. He has to, what is he gonna say?

He had a mini freak out at another member yesterday for suggesting the SS R2D2 is slightly undersized. Basically saying don't be negative about the company he works for. Thankfully he since deleted the post and somewhat apologised for being off in his reason for editing. I was quite surprised by it I must say.

Still, I have the same hopes as everyone else that this works out well, I will buy it in a flash if it does.

I admit I have been cynical of this figure since the beginning, but if that seed of Hope that Rook suggested (that Kuat reposted) has even an once of truth, I'm all for it!

Dammit, I want a good Indiana Jones...

Does this mean that we could be mere hours/days away from actual production pics??

I don't know why toy companies insist on making the hat a separate piece. It'll never look right otherwise.
I preferred the original way Sideshow did it as part of the head. Make a hatless head the EX if you have to.
Hot Toys went for a 'best of both worlds' way with the hair sculpt being removable and 'hat hair' being placed underneath to better fit the hat. That was okay.

I presume this figure will also feature 'hat hair', just as their Luke X-Wing did, even though they didn't mention it in the description or show the Friar Tuck hair piece

Sideshow's description for Indy:

Highly Detailed Portrait with Fedora and Hair Option Attachments

The first production pictures we're likely to see probably won't be from Sideshow, because they don't seem to update their product pages until months after the actual release.

:whip:whip

I'm sure there are a few faithful indy fans (myself included) willing to take that hit
Agree, if you're a serious Indy fan and a 1/6 collector this is a must. Even if you end up modding / futzing it or eventually selling it on (as I did with my HTs Indy).

If he said (or implied) he liked it, then I believe that's true. But as well all know, everyone's opinion is different. Maybe Rook isn't as fussy or is willing to overlook minor problems. Who knows? I realize it looks conspicuous for him to be overly positive about a Sideshow product because he doesn't want to bite the hand that feeds him. But IMO I don't know him to be disingenuous or insincere just for the sake of being a Sideshow salesman.

Anyway, I'm one of the people here taking a bullet for Indy fans. I don't get too many figures a year, but as a big Indy fan I can't let this one pass by. I just have to hope for the best.

I'm not even a big fan of ToD but it's Indy and it's 1/6 so I'm in! Here's hoping!

I never used to like it as well. Funnily enough, I re-watched it a week or so ago, and found it to be rather quickly-paced, despite a lot of the annoyances cited since release. I actually like the darker tone for a change/side story; one-sleeved Indy with machete and satchel is practically as iconic an image as jacketed-Indy, and the mine cart scene is such a rush!

(Willie's annoying, but serviceable, and the blue-screen effects are some of the outright worst ever, shockingly...)

MAN I hope this figure is SSC's crowning piece thus far!

I like most/all the movie except Willie when she's saying "Indy!" For some reason her pitch/tone is like nails on a chalkboard for me. For that reason alone I preferred Elsa, plus Jones Sr. seemed to approve of her as well. :wink1:
Doesn't even need to be said, but Marion is obviously amazing.

HaHa... Yeah, approve of her. He practically gave her his own inspection. Dirty old man:)

On behalf of those with severely limited incomes (not to mention the decimated Canadian dollar), I thank you, and eagerly await your photos & impressions!!! :)

Happy to oblige, I'm sure no one on this board is really made of money. We just like collecting. And if it's in light of my favourite hero, waiting is'nt an option. Will definitely share my views about the figure once inhand
