new sculpt is too toad looking. He is suffering from a bubbly second chin. His eyes are too bulgy too. That's the main issues from what i can see. Also, mouth is too curved and not staight like we see Jabba usually have.

Yeah, well supposedly they had the molds done eight years ago. My guess is they crunched the numbers back then and thought "nobody will pay $250 for the Rebo Band" so dumped the project. Cut to today and they'll use those exact same molds and charge $500.
While this release obviously has issues, I really hope this means Sideshow is focusing on Jabba's Palace. The Rebo Band and some of jabba's henchmen would be awesome. They're characters that HT will never do.

I bought the original Jabba for $71 shipped, it looks great and fulfills that character niche for me so I will just stick with the original.

If a Sideshow rep came out and said “We are rereleasing the archway, both Gammoreans, and a WeeQuey/Yak Face/Squid Face” I would jump on this in a heart beat. I feel like the $800 price tag is leaving me feeling empty. Sonething is missing. Maybe Oola?

Yeah. I could never bring myself to buy the original SS Bib Fortuna. With this new Jabba release, a new Bib would be a warm welcome. The only figure I ever felt was missing from my (eventual) Jabba display & setup.
Stay clear of X-Plus Godzillas then, talk about rip off prices for hollow vinyl.

X-Plus is the best.
In looking closer at this, it seems the throne is the same size as the old one, but has a riser block hidden beneath to raise the sculpted part up higher. The old throne needed a piece of 1/2" plywood or something to raise it up a bit off the floor.
The sculpt on the older one seems a little more accurate (in terms of where the slots line up with the gargoyles,) but the paint on the new one looks much more accurate (though yeah, it's a proto...)
While the overall color on the Salacious is better (more reddish) the old Salacious looks to be a more detailed and accurate sculpt. They seem to have lost some sculpt detail and thickened up the limbs on the new one. The new one has more articulation (swappable heads swivel and spin legs) versus the old one (which just had spin arms) but not sure you really need articulation with him, or the closed-mouth alternate head - not sure anyone would use that one.
The sculpt on the hookah set-up seems a little less accurate than the old one (the glass container seems more egg shaped) but obviously paint seems more realistic on the new one. The old one has the "smoke inside" look, whereas the new one is more clear.

That's IF the production looks as good.
I still don't need the throne and so far, you can only buy the new Jabba with throne so it's $71 vs $800. I'm good.
Yeah, I got the SSC Bib for under $40 and even then I felt I overpaid. I actually like my heavily modded Hasbro Bib better, though I do really like the EX staff that SSC Bib came with.
