Just received my second set of these. Free shipping plus $25 coupon. Bodies on this new set is much sturdier than the previous. Very pleased. Why couldn't SS have offered these bodies in the first place?

won a set of these on the sideshow live thing a couple of months ago thought they had ignored my email but their reply got missed by me somehow they emailed me again the other day thank ****!!! shipping payed and with customs fee's added will cost me around £70 which I can't complain about :D second time I have won something last year I won a suicide squad purple coat joker I sold it and bought sideshow 4-lom as it didn't fit in with my star wars or transformers collection :D

well won is a bit of a stretch as you end up paying out but its like a massive discount on a figure

They look good on display, they have the worst stock bodies in 1/6 history, if you want Jawas buy'em.

got my jawa prize cost me £78 all in with shipping and customs charge so don't feel so much like a price but better than paying full price for them and glad I didn't pay full price they are so flimsy and hard to stand probably the worst feeling out of all my sideshow and hot toys figures !! but they do look good once stood in the display

Wow - US$100 for a "prize"? The set is probably worth US$150-175 so yeah, I guess you won a US$50-75 coupon and that's something.

yeah from sideshows live shows .. what you pay is the shipping and the import fee's , last year I won a hot toys suicide squad purple coat joker which was more worth the money spent on the shipping and import fee's which was around the same as what I paid on these .. I sold it for £200 and bought sideshow 4-lom as it didn't really fit in with anything I collect

"edit" I didn't actually pay the import fee's for the joker :lol only paid the £28 odd shipping , the courier company stupidly delivered it before collecting the fee's they asked for it after so I was well up on that one :lol

was £36 all in it cost me for the joker for some reason I thought it was cheaper shipping I posted about it in the joker thread here

but either way even if you end up paying the import fee's too you save big on a figure if its a decent one you win in the live shows , if you buy figures from sideshows site you pay full price for the figure + shipping + import fee's

Firstly, congrats on winning TWO contests!

Secondly, thanks for the info about the floppy bodies. I thought Sideshow had fixed that with this second release of Jawas. I've been very tempted to get a set, particularly because I've been reading that the bodies are better than before. But evidently still not good enough!

So I guess I'll wait for maybe SOMEDAY HT will get around to making Jawas...

I know this is a negative take. But maybe they decided to give away some floppy body versions ? A bit of glue in the joints helps.

could well have been the older ones , the right hand don't want to stay in the socket on one of them too …. its not so much that they are floppy they just don't want to stand even plugged into the stands .. the one with the dodgy hand was the worst

but as said with how cheap they feel ect they do look really good on display and once in there won't be touched just like with most 1/6 collectors unless your a photographer the figures won't get touched again

That's a good point.

They do look good. I recently sold a couple of older Sideshow figures and while I was packing them away, I was struck with how floppy their bodies were. The whole time they were on display they looked good and never fell over or anything since they were on their stands. So yeah, ultimately if they look good then that should be all that matters.

You need Cocoboloboy's stand. It's a must-have for the floppies and makes the Jawas look even better.

Not sure why, but I'm suddenly feeling the desire to have these cute little guys in my collection. :p From what I can see they're a massive pain to futz, and tend to have very loose joints, but with some work it appears they can still look pretty darn cool on display.

For those that have them, are they really worth paying more than $180 for? I'd love to find them cheaper but haven't had much luck so far, even after using the ebay discounts.

Yes the joints are pretty loose, but they’re not hard to futz at all. The fabric falls very naturally. I definitely think they’re worth it.

Yep, those dang joints but they are actually really easy to futz and get looking good. Like slikkerias mentioned the fabric drapes really well. If anything they don’t quite grip they’re gadgets very well either. Still look awesome on display.
