I was wondering how I didn't get any shipping soon notices but it looks like I never even PO'd this guy. At least the promo "NEWYEAR15" got me $20 off.

Lol, this thread went left.

I came to talk more R2...

All this talk of blockades and shipments not getting through to their trade-route destinations... it's the PT all over again, messin' with my Star Wars joy.

I can't wait for the in hand reviews.

Build quality, scale - need some cold hard reassurance. :lol

All the rest I'm fine with - scale however... if this turns out to be another Medi or hasbro, even if they've added an extra 1/4" or whatever, I'm gonna be bummed. We've already had a few very nicely detailed teeny-tiny R2's.

The somewhat low height listed on the page isn't encouraging, but not totally discouraging either (under-feet wheels could influence height.) In-hand pics is the only way to know.

The scale doesn't really bother me because the plan is to get him and Threepio and display separated and together but has there been a release from any company that nailed the scaling? From what I remember most have been close enough but not exact.

I've given up on caring too much about scale. As long as it's not Medicom-puny I'm resigned to figures like Vader being too tall and R2 being too short.

It's just curious... of all the features to have to get right, correct scale wouldn't be a huge challenge.
