Dome and highlights not brown. Cancelled.

Got the same email. Can't wait. I just now paid off Snake Plissken on my credit card and went to check my email to see that the payment posted and saw the R2D2 notification.

Daylight pics. Much more to appreciate in the light...

Had some time to play. Looks terrific in the daylight. Loads to play with too. It's a bit overwhelming if you have limited time. So much to try. Everything is a bit rickety (meaning rattles around a lot) but works fine. Doors open and close as they should for the most part. I'm still mesmerize by how well the lights work. Paint's more blue in the light, still very navy but closer to the source than it looked last night.

I have to say, the little life scanner thing (square radar) is a real pain -- not only to get out but it won't hold a position. It comes way out but there's no way to lock it off. The highest it will go is when you use the hatch door to rest it on.

The other arms are great, and the periscope works well. The only hatch I didn't try was the light saber -- I don't really trust it will work well. Nor did I try adding the drink arm yet. But that attachment will work fine.

Gotta say I'm very happy. Yes there are very delicate elements to R2 but wow he's just beautiful

Wow, that's the photo I've been waiting to see someone post, DD. Despite the differences in manufacturer and materials, these two figures look GREAT together. And you even extended R2's center leg at the correct length!

Considering how long Sideshow's had the license and the amount of time it's taken them to develop the expertise to finally tackle this figure at this level, the wait for mine to arrive tomorrow is KILLING ME! :r2d2line

Cheers guys :) I'm no reviewer but here are my initial thoughts. I don't normally get excited for light up features but the sequencing leds really sell this as R2. I see me burning through a lot of batteries. This is a delicate figure though, its need to be handled with real care but engineering at this scale & quality, I can learn to be gentle. Paint and weathering is perfect for me. I didn't want a super weathered version. My only real disappointment are the legs. The center leg has to extend too far, IMO, before it locks into place. I would also liked some limiters on the side legs (ratchets even). As it is the legs spin 360 degrees. The ankles are also weak, tricky to balance on 2 legs without tipping forward.

Great pics...........:hi5:
