He never totally sold out... Sideshow has consistently either had him as pre-order or buy now. He's never moved to wait list or sold out. He's still available direct through SS.

Right. I just thought it was weird that it will take 5 months to get new stock from SS.

Quick question. I recently got this little droid and I'm having trouble displaying it without the third leg. He keeps falling forwards or backwards. Is this instability thing an normal issue here?

Try giving him some bread and something salty, maybe have him take a shower and have a coffee.

I find mine topples over as well, when displayed with just the two main legs. It holds for a while but if I bump the Detolf or open/close the Detolf door, he'll keel over forward.

I put the tiniest pit of blu-tac in the "ankle" joints at the back (not visible from any angle) and he holds fine.

I just got mine and really like him for the 15 minutes I've had him other than the immense instability. I put masking tape under his feet for now, but will put some tack (they do make white sticky tack also), in between his feet and ankles.

I also had an issue getting his feet to be on the same level with the 3rd leg out. Do you have to put excessive force on the side feet to move them more, or is there something I'm missing?

Well to start with you don't want to pull the middle leg all the way out. Only pull it as far as it appears in photos in the movie. Usually what I do is first angle the side legs all the way back, and then pull the middle leg down only as far as necessary until the three feet can be level.

This reads so much better when there's no context. Like when I just clicked on the thread without reading the subject. :)

So I was planning on waiting for the hot toys r2d2 after hearing about some frustrations with this one however I just purchased the sideshow r5d4 and I'm blown away by it. So starting to think I should maybes go for this!!

I have the R5D4 as well as R2 and the former is way less floppy in the legs and panels. But if you can live with that, it will of course match the R5 perfectly. I think we all have hope that HT's R2 is better scaled to 1/6 so that one would look much fatter compared to the R5.
