The resize is too tall.

Have to remember that Sideshow's Artoo doesn't have his wheels deployed.

:lecture

Put wheels on the resize and Artoo would be my wagon's grandmother. Or something very similar, since my grandmother's dead.

It's not too tall. Use the movie stills as reference and superimpose the bits. Or don't. I did the work and I'm satisfied. ;)

I don't even know why I spin my wheels on this when the numbers are on Sideshow's site. They claim their R2 is 6.75" tall. That's 1/4" shorter than the Taito at 7" which is pretty much dead-on. Going by some numbers it might actually need to be 7.16" for a perfect 1/6, but that only means a difference of greater than 1/4"

The balloon resize I did is exactly that. What's not perfect is the angle of the photo, which is why I didn't go for a specific height but instead enlarged by percentage, to keep it relative. It's as exact as you're going to get with that particular photo.

Anyway, to even guess at numbers based on those photos you have to know the scale, and the only published reference is R2's height on Sideshow's specs. While it may be wrong, it's all we have.

I've mentioned the wheels maybe a dozen times already in past posts. You don't recall seeing the 1/8" mention?

That looks more like a Dalek minus his zappy stick. :lol

WARNING:

Exciting the R2 unit may cause the zappy stick to pop out. This is not, however, a permanent malfunction. Given time the zappy stick will return to its normal inert state.

DO NOT attempt to return the zappy stick to its original configuration by use of force. Not only will this damage your unit, but will also void your warranty.

Proportions are good - height/width.

If not for the seam on the dome, that would look like a full size prop. Amazing work, SSC!

Just noticed that on the SSC site, the Medicom R2 is listed as 6.25" in height, SSC R2 is 6.75" and just found that the "Taito clock" R2 (that everyone seems to rave about) is 7 1/8".
