Wow. Finger, that's really cool. Do you have a pic where we can see the helmets, figures and the blaster at the same time? And what's on the other side?

Valfar, could you please keep it to PM. Its really frustrating to come into a thread for discussion to find it spammed with your little jokes.

Yeah here is the complete pic :)

I have 3 on pre order right now. Once I get the new bodies for my Marmits I will set up a 1/6th display.

Displays like that make me want to start collecting lightsaber props.

Silly question for DF :p He gets everything Stormtrooper.

Didn't know if he was sticking with Marmits or not. I'm well aware of his condition. :lol

Hi.

I really want to love my Stormie, so we're going to "relate" (UK Counseling).

I know a lot of this has been covered already, but I've just got this guy in the UK a couple of days ago, and hell, you know us Europeans... we just want things perfect (Even us Brits!)

Out the box my stormy was a joke. Couldn't stand, armour all over the shop, all the seperate mid body armour pieces (Yeah I know it's screen accurate but the belt keeps riding up whenever I look at him and it just looks C**p!)

Decided to take some of the advice posted here, make up some stuff myself and try to fix things up.

Stage One - The body:
You can't fix it if you can't see it. So strip him down!
<a href="https://s593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/?action=view&current=Explodedview.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/Explodedview.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Tightened all screws. (Apart from right shoulder which had almost no movement! actually had to loosten that.)
<a href="https://s593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/?action=view&current=Screwyou.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/Screwyou.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

My Guy has a useless left hip joint. completely loose.
So I stuffed small sections of foam into the joint to create friction, hoping with the suit on it would stay in place.
<a href="https://s593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/?action=view&current=CrotchFront.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/CrotchFront.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Next the knees.
Couldn't see any screws to tighten, but knees were really loose, so wrapped 'em in Carpet tape. Extremely sticky but flexible. It does reduce articulation, but hey, he can stand up!
<a href="https://s593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/?action=view&current=Tapedknees1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/Tapedknees1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="https://s593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/?action=view&current=Knee2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/Knee2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Oh those ankles!!!
Ok Sideshow. I'm not an Engineer but... You need to add a some form of ratchet in here or a least a thin washer. You have smooth plastic against smooth plastic, there is little friction and the figure falls over. Please re-design this joint!
<a href="https://s593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/?action=view&current=PegBootcopy.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/PegBootcopy.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Once popped open (Needed to get a set of pliers on that peg to pull it out of the boot) I added a double layer of tape to the inside of the joint, trimmed off the excess and voila! a friction generating washer!

So far so good!
<a href="https://s593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/?action=view&current=TaDa.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/TaDa.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Now we can stand and hold an action pose.

Cosmetics, (Where would we all be without a little Lippy?)
Tried the Hairdryer on the chest armour - no joy.
Dropped it into boiling water for a couple of minutes then re-shaped, didn't feel like much happeed, but once re-dressed it is noticable. Also added some Velcro inside the armour to keep front and back together.
<a href="https://s593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/?action=view&current=Boilwash.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/Boilwash.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

That's as far as I got tonight but he stands and poses 100% better, just seems silly that I need to do all this to get a £55 figure to stand up!
<a href="https://s593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/?action=view&current=fixed1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/fixed1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

The sad thing is after taking that last shot I left the room for half an hour, came back and the bugger was on his face again. I swear the medi trooper on the right was laughing...

Next up! Gloss varnish to be applied plus paint apps. (Do I want to clean his boots up? Can't think why they weathered these? Looks bonkers).
<a href="https://s593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/?action=view&current=ArdCoat.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/Darthgothikus/Stormtrooper/ArdCoat.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Apologies if a lot of this is a re-hash but if anyone finds it useful my day has had a purpose!

See, i do like the figure and yet i wonder how did all these loose figures get past SSC quality control after what they released with clone obi-wan and Indiana Jones, being as loose as they were.

And sometimes when i look at this figure i see resemblance to the pic below, this is not good at all.

If I were you, I'd remove the carpet tape and use Teflon tape (plumber's tape). The carpet tape will degrade over time and leave you a sticky, messy, ruined Stormtrooper, whereas the Teflon tape is a non-adhesive which has similar properties and won't turn into mush.

Think I have some in my tool box. I'll give it a try - cheers!
