This is my 3rd avp r dio. The first one i got it from sideshow then sold it, but missed it so much i bought the ex back off ebay for 2x the cost then i got this reg for display and going to put the ex in storage for backup.

All 3 had perfect clean paint, one of the best painted predators even though it's 1/7 scale. Imagine if the 87 1/5 one was done to this level of quality, how nice it would been as a center piece.

if they mess up halo or arthras like that, i will be very disappointed.

Its a fairly nice statue overall. I am leaning towards keeping it as well. Never say never, but I highly doubt they will make another 1987 Predator anytime soon. Hot Toys will likely release it in 1/4 scale first. I actually like this pose. It just didnt blow me away when I first unpacked it.

Just got another avp dio and cant help but feel very sad.

Here we have a $290 dio that includes 1x predator and 2.5x alien. The predator is 1/7 scale, but it's painted to this level of perfect detail and quality - see photos from old thread.

Then 3 years later....you have a 1/5 predator for $300 that's absolute garbage, with paint that is on par to a $30 hasbro toy.

How low can sideshow sink before they wake up? and this is one of their biggest releases - a predator reboot that suppose to kick off a new series. It could've been something so wonderful, I am really not asking too much, just have it the same paint quality as a 1/7 scale dio that was released 3 years ago for probably 1/2 the cost.

Is that really too much to ask for your products that cost $300 each?

Dutch is a masterpiece to. And even if you don't agree on that it's still the best sculpt of arnold period.

yes i like dutch, the face paint & everything is superb. The only thing that bothers me is the bent/twisted gun barrel wish they made it polystone with a metal wire in the middle like the old days instead of this flaccid plastic, anything to save a few cents... But overall it's one of the top pieces for 2012.

Dutch is NOT a masterpiece. It could have been a masterpiece if it was flawless, but if you call craters all over the shoulders and arm and bent gun barrels and broken cigars and googlie eyes (should I keep going? ) a masterpiece then you are . But I'm glad you like it!

Broken cigar and googly eyes was an issue that effected very few.
I hated the skin texture when I received mine but that was due to poor paint application, looked good on my replacement. Preferred to smooth skin which would of looked awful.
There was a lot of bent gun barrels, due to very thin plastic, which was an easy fix.
All in all the best human representation PF I've ever seen.

I'm glad you're happy with it man. But if you understand the meaning of the word "masterpiece" then you have to agree that the Dutch PF is not a masterpiece. That's all I was pointing out.

I pre ordered it the first day. After a few weeks they repainted the prototype statue, I began to worry.
And after the in hand pictures I just dont like the head sculpt.
My friend still has his order, after he recieves it I can see it with my own eyes, maybe after I order it. But not sure, very not.

T1 is good but has the sunglasses. Dutch does not. That's not to say T1 is bad mind you. Looks like Arnold too, but IMO the Dutch likeness to Arnold is pretty good. I don't have either pieces so I'm just going off pics.
