I'm some what mortified that we'll be getting this DP. There is no way that I can make myself believe that I like this SS DP even a little. Which in turn I'm so hurt by the overall look of this statue. Nothing like being a super fan of a character that you have waited on, to only get let down extremely hard by the producer of this monstrosity.

This was one of my most anticipating statues to see at SDCC this year and what a letdown. SSC really ____'d this one up big time. We need a new head on this. I like the chicken but this is now a big pass for me. this sucks!!!!!

Just got home from SDCC....bummer someone beat me to it because I got some photos of the dynamite up the chicken as well.

Anyway, I took a bunch of photos of it, will share them here asap. But, I also talked to one of the Sideshow employees who had some of the scoop on the figure.

He said that it will go up for presale in Aug/Sept and will ship in early 2013. He also said that it definitely comes with a 2nd right hand that is holding a Baretta (like in the WIP photo). He also said that as far as he could recall, the red Deadpool PF figure does NOT come with a 2nd head.

However....he also said that they are also doing a grey/black X-Force Deadpool. It will be the same base figure shown here, with no rubber chicken, with the head sculpt shown in the WIP photo. He also said that the X-Force DP will come with "a number of weapons that are interchangeable" including the ability to hold a katana, not just the guns.

He expected both to sell for somewhere in the range of $350.

Compared to the rest of the body the head lacks detail, like stitching etc. If that guy at SDCC is right then the X-Force version should be much better than this.

Sorry bud but to correct u deadpools 1st appearance was the new mutants #98

I woke up this morning after sleeping on it and had some coffee; I still don't like the head sculpt. However I'm not as angry as I was when I first saw the pictures on this. I think it is the black circles and the little beady eyes. I can't quite place it, something is just way off on the head sculpt for me. Everything else is great I love the detail in the sculpt and the stick of dynamite is awesome on SSC part. It really shows a lot of DP's character but damn the head sculpt. I don't know……. I really wanted a DP in my collection but I think I may pass on this one. I'm still a little disappointed.

But the thing thats off IS the fact that it lacks details. Like someone else said, no stitching around the eyes, no piping going up to the tip of the hood, and even though the eyes might be the right size, the black circles make them look so much smaller then they are

Why does the sculpted head look so different from the painted head? I agree the head sculpt kills it and the body lean is a little strange. The sculpt needs more work.
