Hey Dusty,

I know we aren't allowed to use any third party copyrights, but are we allowed to use license logos? For example, the Jurassic Park logo appears on the website, but let's say I wanted a higher resolution and got the same logo off another site. Is that allowed? Or no logo usage whatsoever?

well everyone just hang it up cuz p!tu with one foot on the john & the power loader reveal behind his blanky ownz!!!! i dont think anyone can top that. :monkey1

Anyone else have problems getting the required video into their video editing software? My computer doesn't seem to want to recognize it, I guess because it comes up as a zip file. I just have windows movie maker, which sucks because at school we have Final Cut pro, but we can't use any of the equipment there for anything but school projects. :monkey2

To be safe, I would avoid useage of 3rd party logos, unless the logo appears on a screencap of our site and you are using the screencap. Licensors can get a little weird about how their logos are used, which logos are used where, etc. Technically logos are copyrighted IP assets.

Thanks for asking!

Can we use music from say Star Wars or JP because you have the rights to make figures for them?

Already answered:

Any of OUR figures (not manufactured by any other company), packaging, and/or photos from our website are totally useable. Rule #4 now has the addition:

"Music, images, movie clips, or other Intellectual Property assets that are under copyright by any entity other than Sideshow Collectibles may NOT be used in any way."

That means stuff made and copyrighted by SIDESHOW is free reign :) (but NOT stuff made and copyrighted by anyone else)

Dusty! can my Hot toys crap be in the vid?

Simply put - you gotta follow the rules. If the rules aren't followed, then unfortunately your entry will be ineligible.

More info about this for those that love to ask "But why?": We have to get approval from licensors and distributors for EVERY video featuring those items that play on our site. The videos you see now - the ones in which we showcase Medicom Toy, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, G.I. JOE, etc - have to be put through the same approval process as a figure does! We can't just use whatever we want from that license or distributor, without permission. If you use any items/IP assets that are not SIDESHOW'S, we can't show them in public or on our site without getting into trouble.

Use Sideshow stuff only please :)

Nooooooooo!!!!!!!!

I read the official rules and it states:

"Employees, officers, and directors of Sideshow Collectibles and its parent, affiliated, and subsidiary companies, distributors, retailers, licensors, advertising and promotional agencies (collectively, "Sideshow Collectibles’s Entities") (and their immediate family members, including parents, spouses, children, and siblings, of all of the foregoing) are not eligible to participate in this competition or win."

My dad is a distributor, nooooooooo!!!!! My video was coming along sooo good!!!!! This totally bites!:banghead

Why is it that they don't allow the immediate family members to enter? It doesn't make sense:confused:
