I wouldn't mind that at all.

Agreed, I'm glad there are a few people who don't have their head in their *** on this subject. The show is good, but you can't compare a multi-season show with a film. The story began and ended with Connor.

I'd want a Ramirez too.

:exactly:
I like a lot of the subtext the show added to the mythos, but I really view them as two separate entities. The problem is Highlander was a low budget, surprise hit that was never considered to be the start of the franchise it became. The fact that the story began and ended in a single movie made any sort of sequel or add on pure ****. I would love to see Hot Toys do figures from the original movie though. I can think of five that I would consider must haves. 1500's Connor, '86 Kurgan, Ramirez, '86 Connor and 1500's Kurgan would be instant buys for me.

Any variants of Kurgan and Connor would be instant buys by me and would probably sell very well. Since they're doing metal swords now it would make them all the better. Although the Kurgan broadsword would probably weigh half a pound :lol

Everything here needs a figure.

Who is this "Duncan" you speak of.....:nana:

J/K As far as I'm concerned the Highlander franchise begins and ends with the Original film. The fact that Conner beat Kurgan to claim The Prize always made any other Highlander film redundant to me. :slap

The producers of Highlander changed the storyline quite few times, I enjoy both the movie and Series.

He is though
Movie Connor both as a character and an actor was better than anything from the TV series & two final movies. Even Connor the swordsman in End Game threw the fight because he wanted to die. Duncan didnt beat him. Connor beat himself. He taught Duncan the move that once you execute it your opponent is going down because they cant get out of it. He essentially took his own head off by Duncans sword so Duncan would get the quickening and would stand a better chance against the Pope.

So why would Duncan have better chance if Connor is better?

Didnt Connor have more kill counts on the stats than Duncan in end game? Connor wanted to die, he wanted out. He went to the sanctuary because he wanted out of it all. A few parts in the movie Connor asked Duncan to take his head. Duncan wanted to live. So Connor give Duncan the power of all of his quickenings. I think the fact that Connor was training Duncan for a part of the movie and the move that Connor taught Duncan was the move that also killed the big bad shows that Connor was more able but less willing.

Though i dont think Connor could of beat the Jacob either unless he took Duncans head. Jacob Kell was way OP

You're on crack if you think Christopher Lambert is a better actor then Adrian Paul. Connor did let Duncan kill him, however, that doesn't mean he would of been able to kill Duncan if both tried. In my opinion unless you're a fan of both the show and the movie you're opinion isn't really valid in this debate because you're biased. I love both and Duncan was just a better more fleshed out character

I decided to watch Highlander II again for ****s and giggles the other day... holy hell I'd actually forgotten how absolutely wreteched it was. Easily one of the worst sequels of all time. I wanted to look away, but had to keep watching every excruciatingly bad moment of it.

Anyone involved with that film should be deeply ashamed :lecture

I think officially that movie doesn't exists in Highlander lore, guess goes to show how bad it is. They wanted to make a sequel but the first movie kind of ended things but I guess this is when they still wanted stuff to make sense, by the time the show rolled around they stopped caring continuity and just made the show. Some fans see the first 3 movies and the show/endgame as two separate entities .

The last Highlander movie with Duncan was about as bad Highlander 2. I really like the first movie and the show was pretty good. Both are good for what they are as separate entities.

Actually there's 400 years of story they could have chosen, they end up choosing 400 years before that in another world.

They could have made it like 50's or 60's.

I watched it yesterday after not seeing it for many years. It's got to be even worse than Battlefield Earth. Planet Zeist? General Katana? Oh my god it was painful all the way through.

I like to think that the Immortals always existed and the origin is never explained.

Here's an excellent review of it.

That about sums it up... such a crapfest; thanks Netflix streaming for making it too easy to watch :lol

This thread taunts me.

It's a special kind of magic...
