Excellent. I actually messaged him on Facebook awhile back suggesting he mod his Indy sculpt into Solo, but I may also have to go the route of commissioning a mod by someone else. The best 1/6 scale Ford sculpt I've seen.

Just go for a custom if you're in the mood to throw money around. The HT sculpt looks nothing like Solo in hand or on the shelf - it will also cost you about $100 that's better used elsewhere. Blue coat might cost you close to the same.

You can likely still grab the blue version for retail on eBay. Just wait for an auction that starts around $170 or lower.

Regardless of how you feel about the likeness in the HT Solo head, it is noticeably smaller than the SS head. He looks a bit pin-headed, I've tried it.

The blue coat is becoming increasingly harder to find. Since the brown coat Han sold out/Wait listed at Sideshow this piece (Blue or Brown coat) is going to climb above the $200 mark now and stay. I got lucky two weeks ago and won a blue coat Han figure loose for $100 dollars with no box. Only wanted the coat and head sculpt for a mod so worked out well going to sell the rest of the parts to subsidize.

Same here. Though mine was either new or just all boxed up like it was. Total came to $167 I think and there didn't seem to be much last minute competition for the final bid.

With the exclusive brown and blue sold out at SS these should start to climb, as you said, but I think there's still a chance to grab for around retail right now.

Tempted to pick this up as well but if I do I'd like a Tauntaun too. Wish I could get one for less than $350 but it could be one of those pieces that rises in price like the Dewback when it sells out everywhere.

I think I might have mentioned this before, and had completely forgotten it myself, but it just struck me again as I was pushing the hood back on my brown coat Han (to differentiate him a bit from the blue coat one):

The sun is shining, which has been a rare occurrence here for months, but the curtains are drawn to protect my figures. The light coming through the curtains, however, has an odd effect on the brown coat. It appears maroon rather than brown. In fact, it appears exactly like the real brown coat when it was wet or under certain lighting conditions in the film.

ZE_501 just mentioned the word "serendipity" in the Luke X-Wing thread, with reference to the eyes on the figure viewed through the translucent yellow visor. And within minutes I was seeing it with Han's coat.

I've seen exactly the same effect with the suit on HT's Joker Bank Robber 2.0. Under certain conditions the grey suit is distinctly purple.

Hi all,

I took a break from collecting Star Wars and I missed out on both the Han and Luke hoth figures. Should I pick these up after market or does anyone think Hot Toys will be doing these? The more I look at both of these figures the more I'm kicking myself for not picking these up.

Thanks Pixel. I've been searching eBay, but so far nothing. I remember that Toy Anxiety had a few when it was first released. Now nothing. The hot toys head is going for almost $200 by itself.

I really wish you could wait to see how those custom heads look in physical reality and painted up well before you pay. They're a financial commitment of at least $200 - around the cost of a whole HT figure.
