IF Sideshow doesn't give us the blue coat as the exclusive, I wonder if it would be possible to dye it?

it has to come with a blue coat exclusive............it just has to............

I think it's the rose colored glasses some people are wearing leading them to think the original coat was any kind of blue. The original coat may as well have been black or dark grey, you wouldn't have known the difference in the original movie print anyway.

Brown coat is brown; this blue crap is old

you two obviously aren't aware of the impending doom of the world that will come with earthquakes, fire, famine, locusts, asteroids collisions and worst if we don't get a blue coat...............:pfft:

I don't think the Hoth coat ever looked blue except for some possibly bad VHS transfers or the memory of the Hasbro toys.

I must have all things HOTH, so Han and Luke are sold. Probot and TaunTauns... I just don't have the room but truly wish I did.

Now where is the HOTH REBEL SOLDIER?

I thought it was really brown but looked blue on screen because of filters or some crap.

No it was blue. Basically you've got one side that looks at the movie, production stills, stop-motion puppet on tauntaun, and the Kenner figure and sees a blue coat and others who have noticed that a brown coat is making the rounds as part of a SW museum and are suddenly claiming that that was the color everyone saw all along. :monkey3

Now where is the HOTH REBEL SOLDIER?

You can ask that after Hoth Leia makes an appearance. :lecture

This really looks nice. I may try to pick up an extra head for swapping out on the Bespin. I wonder if they're also using new bucks.

Anyway, I already suggested the coat be white and simply include a few packs of RIT dye.

Kenner invented the blue coat, it's as simple as that.

Boba_binks on the rebel scum forums posted this.

"As for Han Solo’s Hoth Coat; when originally shooting the Hoth scenes the Coat that Harrison Ford was wearing was a dyed with a mix of Burgundy, Blue, and Brown. The original coat before dying was grey. But the grey was too light and blended into the snow making it hard to see.
Irvin Kershnern the director of Empire also wanted Han Solo’s colors to be different from the Rebel alliance colors to distinguish him from the Rebel’s.
If you look at the jacket today it has deteriorated some and the color has faded greatly. It now looks grayish brown / purple in color.
If you look at stills from the film, sometimes the coat appears blue sometimes brown depending on the location and the lighting for the scene.
Hope this helps.

I got this info from Mary, one of Steven J. Sansweet’s assistants."

I saw this same display when in DC when they were at the Smithsonian years ago. I always assumed it was blue from the film and because of the figure. I personally like the blue better but for some reason lucasfilm is officially calling it brown. Dunno.
