Re: Jedi Luke Premium Format.

I think the saber will light up. Can't see SSC not including the light up feature. I actually like the V2 look better though.

Re: Jedi Luke Premium Format.

There is no way it wont light up..I dont even know why you guys are making an issue of it.

Re: Jedi Luke Premium Format.

I don't have any PFs, so forgive my lack of knowledge, but what other figures did not light up? Asajj did not, correct? I don't think they would make such an iconic figure of Jedi Luke and leave out the electronics.

Re: Jedi Luke Premium Format.

Mark Hamill had two different looking sabers in ROTJ? That's news to me. I assume the PF saber is based off the close-up of when Vader is holding it on Endor?

I didn't know either. I am not THAT big of a nerd that I pay attention to that type of thing and then argue about it :lol

I brought it up and it wasn't to make an issue out of anything other than observing how the peg is clearly seen on the hilt with the plastic blade sliding over it. I don't know if you have any of the PFs that DO light up, but if so you will notice that is not how they are constructed.

The ROTJ saber is very thin in comparison and that could preclude any use of electronics. Of course there is always the Dooku situation.

The V2 saber was used more than the Hero version in the movie. I like it cause it shows battle damage and looks better to me.

Re: Jedi Luke Premium Format.

:lecture this, plus it clearly shows it can light up in the video within the first 15 seconds:lol

Right, and their publicity photos show the action figures and dios lighting up too. :wave

I WANT this to light up, but take a look at Vader, Obi, Maul, etc and then look again at this press photo.

:emperor

oh, I wouldn't know. I've only recently begun collecting this stuff, but still, I have absolutely no worries this Luke will light up nor will I lose any sleep if it doesn't:lol

Re: Jedi Luke Premium Format.

Light up is nice and all, but to save some money, I'd almost rather it didn't. I hardly ever use the light on Maul but for the occassional photo. Like certain light features with figures, I feel like light up sabers of any kind is nice but for what can be saved not doing it, and for how not often most probably won't have them on, it's not a big deal and save a few bucks not putting it in. Things that add actual display lighting like spotlights and such, those I think have value.

Re: Jedi Luke Premium Format.

I haven't seen any noticeable price decrease on PFs without a light-up function.

Re: Jedi Luke Premium Format.

The Light up feature is not a deal breaker for me, but I would prefer to have it. I would imagine that SS would have to put the light up feature in there after that short promo video. It only makes sense to me. I guess we'll find out next Thursday!

Re: Jedi Luke Premium Format.

i don't know about u guys but i personally find light-up sabers in all the PFs to be nice only in principle. cos in reality they don't really resemble a "proper" lit saber like in the films. they just look like a coloured plastic tube with a light originating from one end and fading off as it reaches the other end.

it would be great if ss could give us a light-up feature like the force fx lightsabers, so they look much closer to their film counterparts. of course, that's probably too cost prohibitive.

but i'm just curious as to whether a realistic light-up feature would be an incentive for any of u. let's say the cost impact would be only 15bucks more...

Re: Jedi Luke Premium Format.

I'm fine with the little light in the saber as I never turn it on after I 1st set it up anyway.

grievous does not light up either.

Re: Jedi Luke Premium Format.

what time do people usually get the newsletters? Thursday nights? I tend to get mine Friday afternoons after items are already sold out. I don't want to miss this.
