Got my Optimus a couple of hours ago. Getting ready to unbox it and put it together. Hope nothing is screwed up on this baby.

UPDATE--just got Optimus unboxed. Looks like everything is fine. Great paint job for sure. Striking colors and great presentation. Massive statue with those two huge cannons. Bring on the Decepticons! Got #184 out of 500. Okay, just need someone out there who is a good soul and sculptor to make a couple of aftermarket energy swords with an axe as well. Hell, I'd pay a couple of hundred dollars for them (or more if painted) to complete this baby. Im sitting on the edge of buying Optimus Prime myself. Even tho "every1" is sold out. it seems some shops is waiting for it to arrive. So maybe i will get optimus prime eventully if the wallet play nice :p

Hope SSC is planning to make Shockwave as theire next maquette. Imagine the bad boy in the pic below, standing on a base made of a part of his big bad "pet"! (but i think its most likely they make magatron, before any1 else)

Im still not sure if im gonna buy this optimus prime maquette, couse i think its very expensive :S then again, i just cant stop think about it, its so cool!... but i see some stores online expecting it to arrive to theire warehouse next month... so i still have some time to make a decision.

Anyways, give Shockwave as in the picture below on the same base as optimus with decepticon symbol. The exclusive version of this could have a "stand alone" statue with his "litt" pet beside him, think that could be awesome! (another idea is to make Shockwaves' base as a part of his pet)

Got mine yesterday and put him together. Looks great! One thing, did anybody else have a hard time putting on the left arm? I can't seem to get mine in completely (although it's pretty hard to tell, since the plug is silver). Do your all go all the way in easily?

Hilarious but true. I put Optimus right near my laptop for the time being and he looks bloody terrific with the guns but a sword in one hand and a gun in the other would definitely kick it up a notch. Really, really need some swords and/or the axe for this great statue.

It looks great. Congrat's :hi5:

Guys, I just got my optimus since it's shipped abroad. The toe-like metal part was broken. What do I do about it? Is it possible to get replacement since it means sending back half the body.

Also, if it's not possible how di I fix this? :(

Thanks..

Apart from that. This figure is sick. It worth every penny... then... double it :)

sorry to hear, that really sucks (but why on earth would you buy from overseas? :( ). You have two options:

1) There is a body only optimus for sale on ebay currently for $1k, obviously the price is crazy but you can try your luck with the seller to see if he will lower it or swap with your broken one + cash.

2) Get one of the guys on statueforum to fix it for you.

Both will be expensive :thud:

Thanks for the option. I was in US when I ordered it. Then I have to move to different country. In short didn't plan on cancelling it. :)

How about the detailed painting on the silver parts? Are they look rusty with black faded color. Looks like weathered or something. Is it just me or anybody else has the same color tone? Thanks.

Got mine last week from pop culcha in Melbourne. But only put him together today. Was very happy no damage and looks much better in person. I will get another autobot if they continue this line for sure

Hi guys, need your help. I finally received the optimus prime today. It looks epic, best statue yet since the starcraft marine. But I have a few questions since I got this off ebay, hope someone can confirm.

1) Is the base suppose to be very light? I was very surprised how light that giant base was, almost feel like plastic.

2) Optimus left hand with the gun seem to be very loose, the magnet doesnt seem strong at all, i am worried the hand might fall out. Do you guys have this problem? like i can easily pull it out.

3) The arm that connects to the body doesnt use magnets? it seems very difficult to plug it all the way in, i had to twist and push many times to put it fully in.

4) The paint app on the head doesnt seem to be as good as it can be, also there is a dent on the nose? can you take a look at the head photo and tell me if it's normal?

I bought this off a US top rated seller and the item appears to be brand new, but just want to make sure.

Thanks!

actually rodimus answered most of my questions, the head paint looks exactly like his. I too feel the paint fell short for a $1000+ statue especially the head. But overall still one of the best pieces from sideshow.

ps thanks rodimus for answering from the past :yess:

Hey fellas, I received my EX Optimus Prime yesterday late in the day, but was unable to open and take pictures immediately due to other responsibilities. Upon opening up the packaging my 1st reaction was one of amazement, but yet of disappointment. The reason for the disappointment is that the base was much bigger than I anticipated and the statue will not fit in the case that I had readied for it. Big bummer for me. No immediate case for Optimus. The base is actually very light much to my surprise. It feels like it is and I'm sure that it is hollow inside. The main weight comes from the statue itself. The UPS shipping weight of the box was 8.6lbs. Overall I am really happy with the statue. It really is a piece that looks much better in hands and I feel that the pictures really dont do it justice. The level of detail in the sculpt is awesome, but I feel that the staue falls short in the paint department. There are so many parts that have been sculpted and molded and unfortunately not all of them received the attention that they should have for a $1,300 statue. The main and noticable pieces are the ones that mainly get the paint attention. I had hoped to have taken pictures in natural daylight, but was unable due to the time of day. Once I started taking pictures my camera battery died. Hopefully I'll have time tomorrow to take additional pics. Here are a couple of pics showing some different angles and close ups of some of the parts.
