I really hope there are no QC issues! Especially for the price!

There will be QC problems, that's a given. It wouldn't surprise me that we see those black ink or black marker streaks that appear on the AMP Suit as weathering appear here on Optimus as well. And, Optimus has a much more detailed paint scheme to get right plus chromed parts. I would almost wish that Sideshow would forgo any weathering or simulated damage such as scratches in the paint job and just give us a pristine, right off the assembly line Optimus. This piece will be too easy to ____ up is all I'm saying.

I know what you are saying, I really hope sideshow put a bit of QC effort in this one, even though they should in every item. This should really be one of the items people look at all the time and say how awesome it is :rock

Has anyone confirmed yet if this really weighs 8lbs??? SS hasnt changed anything on the website yet which has my kinda nervous. $1200 for an 8lbs statue...this better not be made of paper mache.

Chris

yeah that would suck,no lights,no pin stripes and now Paper light.I wonder what makes this so damn expensive, couldn't get things a 100% right and charging 1200$.

Why am i so damn weak?:gah:

This is what I asked sideshow a few weeks ago, and they referred me to their ask sideshow section.... still waiting on a reply :lol

I dont know whats up with sideshow lately and answering customer questions... check out the ask sideshow thread on what scale the hobgoblin is.....

hey good news, this is what i asked them on their facebook page:

"Sideshow, will you PLEASE consider the White Pin stripes to the flames on the Optimus Prime Maquette? That is an important detail to Optimus and for 1200$,no light up feature is a dissappointment in itself but details like this should not be forgotten for a 1200$ piece."

Answer from sideshow was:
"I believe this very thing has been addressed recently in the production process! We will upload new, updated photos of the Optimus Prime when the pre-production sample is available!"

Indeed a great news.

Maybe we should keep barking about having the light up feature. Maybe it's not too late. :)

It will be totally cool with light up feature.

Anyway, what is QC guys? Quality Control?

That's exactly what QC is.

Easy details like the white stripes and the symbols on the head are easy adds but a Light up feature won't happen, big changes has to be made in order for that to happen and Sideshow won't bother with that really.
However, make the Guns light up would be easy though, just add 2 orange plugs/battery driven lights.

That's exactly what QC is.

Thanks :)

It's ashame with $1200 that SS can't do better QC then. It should be way better that product made in China. HT has done way better job beyond expectation. But again HT is made in HK not China, am I correct?

That's sadly true. Well, have the light or the exclusive sword light up will much better than nothing.

Also, it will give more value to the exclusivity of the sword has light up feature. IMO

Yeah you know it. They could use hearing aid batteries to power lights in the guns and the on/off switch could the barrel of each gun. Rotate the barrel to the right, light turns on; rotate to the left, turns off. Medicom/Toys McCoy did that same thing on the excimer laser cannon for their 1/6 scale Super Armored Fighting Suit. Works fine. For Optimus' swords, same deal. Cast the blades in clear plastic/resin and use leds. and its all good. Also, if they wanted to light up his eyes, then they could easily have a removable head with a compartment for those very same hearing aid style batteries which could go in that compartment underneath the head. The switch could be concealed underneath as well hence the reason to have a removable head. I don't think this would add that much more expense to this statue either.
