Well your policy has put your account on hold. You were dealing with two very trustworthy companies, I am 100% positive that the outcome would have resulted satisfactorily and much more quickly as well. I also don't see how it makes anyone a sucker to pay what they owe. Sideshow had not granted you a refund yet so technically, you still owed American Express that money. In any regard, it's all about patience. Not once has Sideshow's customer service let me down, you just have to give them time to do their job.

Again..... I did not owe $338.59. The item was returned and received by SS.

And you would think twice about fronting even a dollar out if you lived in Florida. Merchants that we had dealt with for years just pick up, move and owe everyone in town. Not that Sideshow would ever do that, but once learnt, twice burnt. My company and personal policies don't allow me to ever 'trust' anyone when it comes to business. Business is business, plain and simple. Sorry if your policies differ from mine.

Exactly. We are all looking out for our best interests. But if SS issued a refund to my AMEX card, no chargeback would have followed. IMHO, SS was the one who jumped the gun. The letter received by Dawn was most likely a generic stating the intentions of AMEX if a credit was not issued. As long as they issued the credit, which Dawn says they did (even though it has not shown), the issue was concluded. This problem has been perpetuated by Dawn's actions after her failure to read the notes on my account.
Refunds dont show up immediatly neither do charges, if you don't see anything after 48-72 hours I would question it.

You have never worked with for a company and dealt with credit card processors have you. There is no form letter saying refund the money or we will do a charge back. Basicly what the notices say are a dispute has been filed, $xx.xx has been charged back, then is goes on about how to prove the charge is valid. Until they prove it they don't get their money back.

Welll the situations you talk about are the time to call AMEX not when your bill is due and the credit has not been issued.

AMEX could do the charge back, it has happened before many many times. They can't cross reference refunds, disputes, charges, etc.. How would AMEX know that the refund was for the same item as the chargeback? I think you have way to much confidence in AMEX's ability to know whats going on with millions of transactions.

As far as SS placing a hold on your account.
Well that thier policy:monkey3

We all have our policies. I have had my AMEX account since late 1993. Never even heard of a company issuing a credit for say...$338.59, and then AMEX doing a chargeback credit for the same amount to the same company. Do you do alot of business with AMEX? Did this ever happen to you? I think AMEX is big enough and their systems advanced enough for this not to happen. And since it has never happened to me, I have no frame of reference.

Even if your item was returned and received by Sideshow, you don't automatically get a refund right away. These things take time. Why would it be so horrible to get credit back from AMEX instead of causing a huge ordeal and a complicated mess? So what you are saying is you just don't have any trust in Sideshow, even though you have done business with them for years?

Well there ya go. You can't ask companies to bend to the individual honor codes that their customers live by.

According to AMEX, a chargeback credit will never process if a refund has been issued. Once the refund is issued, the process ends. So if SS issued a refund, what's the problem?

The problem is beauracracy my friend. Its a tangled web we are dropped into at birth and keeps us hostage till we die (if we're lucky).

If you can't be objective, don't bother replying. You are pointing your finger at me as the cause of this problem. That's your opinion but the facts are once a credit is issued, the chargeback process ends. Looks like SS doesn't trust their customers, so why should I trust them? You've got alot to learn about the cold reality of the business world. Go play with your dolls Rory.

What AMEX is telling you is not entirly true. CS people dont process the disputes thats a whole other group. Those who process the disputes don't process refunds. What they say will in fact happen in time after SS shows that the refund was done but as SS said this can take weeks mean while SS is out the money for the charge and the refund.

Never mind, you are not worth it. You are just a racist, grumpy old man. Good bye Kodiak. Your comments are by far the most ignorant on this board. I wish you the same fate as Shai, only you will deserve it a 100 times more. I guess I will go play with my dolls now and the many that will come this month from Sideshow because my account isn't on hold.:lol:rotfl :rotfl :rotfl

I'm right there with you. Kicking against the pricks gets tiring. Nothing you can do but play their game by their rules or not play at all. :lol
