Received my exclusive today and as usual this thing is unbelievable in person. The mass of this thing can not be realized through photos. I was lucky to receive one with very tight magnets on both heads. No seam issues either with either one. Two very slight cracks in the back(seems to be same place as everyone elses) but an easy fix....not worth sending back. No chips or paint issues anywhere. Overall very pleased with this one. My only complaint would be weight...it is not heavy at all. If sideshow has found a less expensive way to make these, then they should pass that savings on to the buyer. Since I dont carry it around all the time I would glady pay less to have them a little lighter. They display just as well and thats all that matters to me....

I really appreciate your honesty Pork Chop. Too many collectors feel the need to pump a piece up if they ordered it and defend it to the end regardless of issues it might have. It's fine to say you like a piece while pointing out things you wish were different/better. It makes it so much easier for those that are contemplating purchasing this piece to make an informed decision. Kudos Bro. :clap

And too many troll the threads who have never seen it. I admitted it is a tad light to my liking as soon as I got mine but make no mistake, it is still an awesome piece.

No worries. Don't get me wrong, I like the statue a lot but have real concerns as there are quite a few larger things coming down the pipeline.
And with people waiting just for a response on damage issues, what does that tell you. I have to accept possible issues later because I choose to keep it. I just think it a poor decision on Slideshows part to construct it this way.

No doubt it looks great. My comment wasn't directed at you. :dunno
I glad you enjoy it. The issue was never how it looks. The issue is the lack of materials used to save SSC's bottom line while charging its customers a premium price. No customer should have to deal with cracks or possible future cracking because of eggshell hollowness. There is no question that this beast looks fantastic.

Oh, I know you love the look of this piece. ANYONE WITH EYES CAN SEE WHAT A FANTASTIC SCULPT THIS IS. However, I do share your concern about future larger pieces being released with the same hollow technique in manufacturing leading to the same issues we are seeing with Rhino.

some people have thin skin just like this piece. commenting on a piece isn't trolling. Only to the fanboys it is.

No question for 400 retail this should be more solid. Given the material put into it I would be happy to pay 200 for it. All this talk of hard to ship makes me laugh. They did fine a few years back when they didn't pull this stuff.

on a more positive note, bravo to the sculpter..

:exactly::goodpost: I agree and perfect comment sir, you win the post of the day! :clap

Checked mine over as thorough as possible and can't see any cracks.

How obvious are the ones that people have?

Cos there is so much wrinkles and folds it's hard to tell if something is a small crack or just a deep fold.

The only complaint i have over this is when i pick it up it feels cheap. But since i don't carry it much it / not worth worrying about.

Errr..... Here's SS response to my rhino. Plus no reply to my rhino head which won't stay on :( got to decide what to do......

Thank you for your email regarding the Rhino Comiquette.* We are sorry to see the issue you are having with the piece. Please know, we have examined your pictures and compared them to some of our inventory pieces.* Unfortunately, we found that these cracks are consistent with this statue.* Because of these, we do not believe we will be able to provide you a replacement statue that would be any improvement. *We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
*
Please know, we have found that the small cracks you are reporting are limited to certain cervices of the exterior skin and are not expected to expand.* Additionally, these cracks do not extend into the interior polystone of the statue, and do not threaten the structural integrity of the statue.*
*
If you decide that you would like to keep your Rhino Statue as is, we can offer you a $20.00 Sideshow Collectibles credit that can be used on a future purchase.* If there is something from our website that you are thinking about ordering, let us know the item number and we will book the order for you and apply this credit to that purchase.* This offer is valid on any in-stock or preorder items listed in our online store.****
*
We want you to be satisfied with the figures that you purchase from us and we do not want you to feel stuck with something that you are unhappy with. If you are not satisfied with your Rhino, and do not wish to accept the above credit, we will be happy to offer you a full refund for this statue. If this is how you would like to proceed, I will provide you a pre-paid label to return the item at no cost to yourself.*

Please let us know how you would wish to proceed with this inquiry.* If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Just got a e-mail from ss returns saying the cracks are normal and they offered me a $20 credit. :gah:

But seriously that's pretty ****ed up to say a broken product is normal and offer a measly $20 credit. Though atleast a full refund is applicable
