Helmet and holster look quite off. He looks tired and depressed. It's just not a very well proportioned figure vs. the HT. Gloves seem to be reuse of the ATAT driver gloves with a repaint and added hand armor.

The HT snowie eyes aren't quite right either (too vertically narrow,) but yeah, WAY closer than the SSC.

It's laughable how off the mask is. I'll stick with my Master Enaud custom.

I think I'll get the HT snowtrooper instead, and HT Leia, and HT Emperor, and HT Tank Trooper... and HT Royal Guard.... NEXT!

The HT was a maybe for me, depending on what was going on when it came out. This SS one is a pass. A shame too as their AT-AT driver looked exceptionally well done.

What a colossal disappointment. The mask is ridiculously bad. What are they thinking? We've been waiting forever for this fig and this is what they show? No figure is perfect, but that mask is almost insultingly bad, and that's not even touching the price point they'll be asking for this trainwreck.

I'm guessing Disney wouldn't approve the same figure from two different companies though. So not sure what will happen. Really doubt they'll both see a release at the same time. Would be pretty interesting if they did.

Yeah, I finally saw Maul in person against a bunch of HT TFA and other SS figures (X-Wing Luke and TIE Pilot), and Maul to me seemed the best of the bunch.

Great comparison pictures! Sideshow has butchered this plain and simple and unfortunately yet again has validated the "I'll wait for the hot toys" phrase. I badly need a commander for my incoming snowtroopers but not a sickly looking meth addicted one wearing the Scream mask.

After looking at the picture more closely, it looks like someone hasn't affixed the mask part to the goggles. I think it might look alright if the put the two pieces together the way it supposed to be. Again, their "futzer" screwed up.

Would certainly improve the look, but lower mask doesn't look very pliable?
