It's actually one of those rustic orange linoleum topped tables with chrome stripping around the edges and folding legs.

The sense of entitlement that people are referring to is the way some people believe a company is obligated to them, when the company actually isn't.

Well they are obligated to provide good QC, CS and quality product. If they fail to provide any of these they wouldn't exist. Thankfully for the most part SS provide all three. At times they do silly stuff and its no harm in letting them know you don't agree with their decision.

Even QC is only an obligation to the customer if they don't intend to refund when the customer is dissatisfied. But they will refund, so the claim to that obligation is nil. Ultimately, they are obliged only to themselves to have high QC standards, because they want to make money, and they won't if they don't.

Also, disagreeing with them and feeling entitled aren't the same thing. Entitlement has an expectation that the simple fact of disagreeing should be sufficient to compel the company to obey the whims of the customer (which would be insane).

Who cares, they will lie no matter what. If they even tell customers that they have never had any other complaints about the chin paint, do you think they are above lying about anything being sold out?

So if someone thinks Sideshow isn't above lying, that's enough to convict them as liars?

:goodpost::exactly: That pretty much goes for every company, good quality and QC will keep customers coming back. I've been pretty happy with their quality and QC so far, and have been more than receptive in the CS department.

Lots of tongue twisting in there. You have an entitlement to good QC. And if you do not get it as you have said you are entitled to a refund. But you are still entitled.

Just as you are entitled to defend every action SS takes.

Yep thankfully in all of the years in collecting SS product I have had little or no complaint. I have found the CS to be very helpful. It appears I am in the majority but some people have not been so lucky. My mate went through a run of defective collectibles and numerous returns for about a 12 month period. That was about 2 years ago now and thankfully things have improved. It was mainly down to breakage on arrival. Since SS changed delivery method things have greatly improved for him. So its safe to say SS do take a lot of what is said here on board.

Like Bulls said, their obligation is to refund or exchange and that's what the customer is entitled to, by extension if they have good QC and produce quality products customers like, the customer will order more and not refund/exchange stuff as much. Thus, that's where the customer entitlement comes in.

I'm sure no one here that posts here is naive enough to believe that disagreeing with SS will be sufficient to compel the company to do anything they don't want to. Sideshow has however shown in the past, that they have cared about customer feedback enough to look into these forums once in a while (since Dusty posts on the 'ask sideshow' forum), and we can only hope that they are listening to change stuff for the better.

And I'm sure that no one is naive enough to think that Sideshow's disobedience is not used regularly as an excuse for angry rants on collecting firums.

Who in their right mind would want to go through the whole return phase. It would be a nightmare.

Also if you were an international customer and your exchange rate has changed for the worse since making the purchase that too would be a nightmare to resolve.

Aye, the only complaint I have was about the IM Maquette out of all my Sideshow pieces and that's a pretty darn small percentage of SS stuff that has problems considering how much I have.

"Disobedience" they can only be disobedient to themselves and their directors.

Thankfully mine is on flexi so I am assuming that the paint issues will be resolved by the time mine ships in November.

Disobedience? That's a strange word to use in this context. Sounds like they are going to get punished or something. ;)

Luckily angry rants that are profane or insulting are filtered out and those posts deleted by our friendly neighbourhood mods. People will say what they want and that's the point of the forums, so I don't understand why others take it so personally. Everyone has different views, no need to start throwing insults around just cos someone disagrees with your point of view. No doubt angry rants AGAINST angry ranters is even more absurd and will just initiate a vicious cycle. :cuckoo:

Sticks and stones.

MarvelCollector, your are not crazy. Maybe just a little too idealistic or naive. The practices exist, & will go on. It's a _____, but it is not illegal!
But what we should possibly acknowledge is that Sideshow, like so many other companies in the collectibles game (luxury), must be suffering in a tough market. This, I believe, has been the cause of Sideshow's recent trend to release higher end, more expensive products, ( eq; marvel comiquettes). It's almost like they are pulling-out all the stops, making their last stand, & going with their best stuff, rather than trying to "waterdown the lines" & attempting to extend them to eternity. Frankly, I hope the trend continues cause we are going to see some unbelievable products, & no one comes close to Sideshow when they hit the mark. If I'm right(!), people, start saving your $$$$, cause we are going on one hell of a ride.

Ok...here's my issue with having ISSUES with this issue: :lol

The complaint seems to be that Sideshow is putting statues on sold out status so that the statue becomes more desirable to someone and thus they jump on the waitlist because of the presumed popularity.

So, basically...the only people that have issues with this practice are those that would jump on the waitlist ONLY because the statue seems to be popular and not because they really want it (i.e. flippers or morons).

If the statue isnt truly sold out...anyone that really wants the statue can still get it, and a few flippers get screwed/stuck with statues they can't flip. So...I don't really see an issue. Its kinda like complaining that McDonalds made you fat because they had a super size option....as if people are powerless to resist something just because its there... :gah:
