traylorc...I honestly feel like i'm talking to a brick wall. You act like i'm trying to round up a posse for SS. I just wanted to talk about this practice, like you would talk about the weather. It really has no significance to me one way or the other because i don't take it so personally.

No one is taking it personally, you said you wanted to have a discussion. Having a discussion means folks may actually disagree with you. It's also becoming increasingly obvious that you possess limited knowledge as it relates to simple economics, how to run a business, or how to manage a business. I am not trying to flame you, but you really seem to be struggling with some very basic business and economic concepts.

Your "observation" is observing a well known, widely used, and effective business practice that has been around since the concept of "sales" was established a few thousand years ago when one caveman had a sharp rock that another caveman realllllly wanted....

It's like starting a thread debating why the sun rises and sets, or seasons change. Its a known and understood occurrence that is fairly pointless to talk about unless you're 5 years old and learning the concept for the first time...

You probably should collect Hasbro figures. If items are selling out at X price then X price is the correct price for the market relating to supply/demand/equilibrium.

What happened? I'm so confused.. Man - collecting has gotten so complicated.

I think I'll just stick to my normal strategy.. just order what really really looks great to me, and not worry about the rest of the details. If I can't get it for whatever reason, just forget about it and move on.

Good way to go about it. So many folks have a sense of entitlement that it's just mind boggling.

Yeah - the sense of entitlement deal has really taken root in almost every aspect, and really just weakens folks IMO. So hard to think for yourself when you're too worried about not having something that someone else has (if that makes sense ).

But that point is probably for another thread I imagine. ...though I'm still not too clear on the point being made in this one.
